lol at Stay never dying on radio: 1 (+1) The Kid LAROI & Justin Bieber - STAY 102.80 (+0.36) 2 (-1) Adele - Easy On Me 102.42 (-7.15) 8th day effect on country radio pulled "Easy On Me" out of the top 50 so all its AI disappeared from the update. Plus AC radio dropping it for Xmas music. abcdefu goes for Pop adds December 7th. Looks like it'll be a massive hit in the new year.

I mean "White Christmas" is the best selling single of all time, So what's so surprising about seeing it top the daily US Spotify chart? It's surprising because it has never been #1 before, and more specifically it is always behind some other holiday songs. It jumped over a lot of them to get to #1. It's very random/surprising.

I’m not understanding how White Christmas jumped 58-1? That colossal gain in a day would indicate going viral or something, but it has not had any real increase on Apple Music/iTunes/YouTube. Also playlisting would be the next guess but it’s not really near the top on any big Holiday playlist, and its not even on Today’s Top Hits so there’s no playlist effect that would be that huge. Is there multiple versions of the song that are having issues being combined and are separated some days? Maybe they accidentally combined some covers streams with the original too? Maybe many people suddenly just decided to stream "White Christmas" yesterday, So that single day 58-1 jump shouldn't come as a total shock to anyone. I seriously doubt that multiple version of this song were combined. Okay so then explain why many people decided to listen. Something usually spurs a mass gain. A million people aren’t going to wake up today and randomly decide for no reason whatsoever to stream “traitor” on US Spotify today and have it jump from #59 to #1.

A sudden jump from 58 to 1 without being viral or having the help of major playlist is definitely weird and would be a total shock to everyone. Why would anybody think that it's just a natural thing that happens??? Because it has happened before, In fact if you want I can give you various examples of songs on Spotify that have had sudden single day jumps before "White Christmas". Most songs that have suddenly single day jumps either happen due to -albums being dropped -getting a full day of tracking after an early release -going viral on tiktok White Christmas has none of these

there's gotta be some sort of playlisting effect for white christmas because i fully expected mariah to take #1 today if any xmas song were to There is no playlisting effect that can cause a gain that big in 1 day. The only possibility would require Todays Top Hits (biggest playlist by far) and the song isn’t on there. It is also isn’t even high on the top Holiday playlists. If simply being placed midway on a few notable playlists would make a song gain 1m streams in a day then we would see that occurrence happen every week with plenty of songs as many songs get added midway on notable playlists each week. Either the streams are botted or Spotify just had incorrect numbers posted on their end (combining versions incorrectly, or just somehow having a fake number posted somehow).

Yeah it was the best-selling single of all time, but that was ages ago, it has been nowhere near the top-performing holiday song in decades, so there's no way this surge is legit lol.
I know Bing Crosby did record at least two separate versions of the song with slightly different arrangements (one for the film in which it originally appeared, "Holiday Inn" in 1942, and the second for the film actually called "White Christmas" in 1954, if I'm not mistaken), so they might have combined those two plus other versions inadvertently whereas they didn't in the past, and from the numerous Christmas albums and compilations they appear on, but I don't know how they have handled this before? My understanding is that if they are separate recordings/arrangements, they should chart separately, but if it's the same recording but appearing on different albums, they should be combined?

I mean, it gained way more than any other holiday song, so it's something specific to "WC."

I think we'll have our answer tomorrow. If White Christmas falls out of the Top 10 or even Top 25, we can absolutely infer it was botted

Nothing explains a song gaining 1m on US Spotify randomly mid week, while having no gains on any other digital platform. The only other possibility besides bottling/Spotify posting incorrect numbers I can think of would be if somehow their shuffle feature for playlists glitched and just really favored that specific song for some reason. If 20 songs on a playlist are supposed to have an equal chance at being played next on shuffle mode during a usual basis but somehow everyone who shuffled yesterday immediately got that song.

Can someone post the Amazon Music chart now that Christmas songs are already dominant? I am interested in which songs receive "Alexa payola" the most.

"someone being a superstar right now" is absolutely not a suitable explanation for a song's rise - sincerely, someone's who's been tracking Spotify stats for more than a year
