So Post x Weeknd was a non-event huh? I blame the middling song. Post Malone features are most likely not gonna do good. One Right Now isn't a Post Malone feature though. It's a Post Malone song with the Weeknd as a guest artist given a co-lead credit. Same way Stay is a The Kid LAROI song with Justin Bieber given a co-lead credit.

The gains and losses for the holiday songs are interesting. "WC" had a big gain again, whereas "HJC" lost. That situation doesn't seem fully fixed? Also, a lot of the more recent holiday songs (AIWFCIY, Last Christmas, Santa Tell Me, Underneath the Tree, Buble's HJC) lost streams while older songs like RATCT, Sleigh Ride, etc. gained. I wonder what the deal is there as we've seen that some other days.

YouTube's top US music videos were revealed last week:
December 1st, 2021
"Top Music Videos (US)
And in music, artists who reflected culture and tapped into the language of the Internet — with songs that inspired dance challenges, memes and so much more — saw chart-topping wins.
1. Pooh Shiesty - Back In Blood (feat. Lil Durk) 2. The Weeknd- Save Your Tears 3. Lil Nas X - Montero (Call Me By Your Name) 4. Polo G - RAPSTAR 5. DJ Khaled - EVERY CHANCE I GET ft. Lil Baby, Lil Durk 6. MO3 & OG Bobby Billions - Outside (Better Days) 7. Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak, Silk Sonic - Leave the Door Open 8. Cardi B - Up 9. Olivia Rodrigo - drivers license 10. Rod Wave - Street Runner"
I'd like to know how they tallied this because I'm beyond confused as to how there are no k-pop videos

#10 Rod Wave's Streeet Runner had 104M
Butter by BTS has 99.2M
(it includes UGC, and i set it to last 12 months, but the songs are newer so it doesn't matter.
For Worldwide you can just go on kworb's website.
Edit: Also the 10th most viewed video released in 2021 has barely 100M. Depressing. Truly dead platform in the US.

Since we’re on the topic of Rod Wave, can we please all we can to get By Your Side to chart.

We're gonna have really no big hits after the holiday freeze. Most of the top 10 non-Christmas songs are on their way out as is. What's going to be left? Heat Waves? Need to Know? I feel like both of these are near their peaks. Cold Heart has stagnated a bit. Maybe abcdefu's streams will hold steady while it gains on radio?

Radio is going to stick to “Easy On Me” for a while. I can also see “Industry Baby” making a return in January. But the easiest bet is “Smokin Out The Window.” It’s going to check off all the boxes as far as radio airplay, streaming and visibility come January.

In fact, if Cedric’s prediction holds, it’ll be the highest debut on a rather quiet week. For how long it will stick around is another question entirely, but it’s holding up pretty well on streaming right now, so we’ll see.

Interestingly, Butter is not as high as one would expect. Several of the music videos to get over 500 million worldwide include Dame Tu Cosita, Life is Good, Axel F and Life is Good, which have been around for quite a while.

I think that a song on Roddy Ricch's new album is going to be blow up on streaming and be the big hit starting off the new year similar to The Box and Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial

It'd be good for him if this happened but you can never tell. Lightning doesn't often strike in the same place twice.

Maybe abcdefu's streams will hold steady while it gains on radio? it's pretty normal that some random big song will return to number one after the Christmas freze super weak (ie Mood, Circles, Thank U Next) but then a smash comes in the new year out of the blue (The Box, Drivers License). I wouldn't be surprised if we have a weak week of Easy on Me (or maybe even Industry Baby) at number one after the Christmas Freeze before something totally new smashes that we're not remotely considering

“Male Fantasy” was one of the few tracks that didn’t crack the Hot 100 during “HTE” album bomb week (it hit #2 on Bubbling Under). I wonder if this video release will give it a boost to finally debut on the big chart.

I'd like to know how they tallied this because I'm beyond confused as to how there are no k-pop videos i mean, last time i checked there's only one kpop in the t10 US weeks of the year, and it was pretty frontloaded for streaming here: call me by your name 36.5 mil industry baby 22.1 mil butter 21 mil drivers license 20.7 mil all too well 19.8 mil drivers license 18.9 mil (ii) up 17.6 mil call me by your name 16.1 mil (ii) good 4 u 15.4 mil rapstar 15 mil

It'd be good for him if this happened but you can never tell. Lightning doesn't often strike in the same place twice. He still puts up nice streaming every month despite the project being from two years ago, so I would not call that "lightning striking twice"

It will be lucky to hit the top ten
