I don't have a horse in this race, but I wouldn't be celebrating this rule change just yet.

If anything the BTS fans will be more determined to get #1s than ever. Also all their efforts will now be spread over more songs. Instead of having a Butter be #1 for 10 weeks, they will probably have 5 or more quick #1s.

What is unsettling tho is how rabid BTS's fanbase is. I mean if one (or more) of the group's members decides to leave the group or even die there will be mass suicides.

I'm not convinced they can fudge streaming in the US to achieve #1's, now that their sales bot farm tactics have been nerfed. I think #1's will require actual resonation with general audiences, the Army can't just buy them.

You know, considering that the BTS stans are willing and capable of keeping Butter at #1 for 10 straight weeks, I think the worst case scenario that would forever completely ruin Hot 100 would be if BTS do a "1 song a week" lead up to their album or whatever. Like, for an entire month or so, them just releasing 1 song a week and their stans sending each one to number one. Basically, think of instead them keeping one song at number one for ten weeks, its them sending ten different songs to #1 for 1 week each
