Long shot now that I'm sober, but I'm getting vibes of "It All Comes Out In The Wash" if only because I'm thinking of people drying their clothes outside

Just to keep y’all in the loop, I drove home for Easter, so I’ve been with family the last few days! I have to drive back to my home tomorrow afternoon, and then I can pick up the pace with this one 😉

Alright, I'm heading to bed now.... But here's a couple hints for the song to kick off the next set! When It Rains It Pours?? I swear to god if I lose my #2 right after my number #1 I'm going to reach through the screen and cut some fools... It's a predictable travesty to lose "Missing" this early. Aside from the Kacey Musgraves album cuts, it's probably the least well known song on the list, but still. Even if neo-trad country isn't your cup of tea, I'm not quite sure how a jam like that could make a bottom 10. Now let's lose a Carrie Underwood or Miranda Lambert song so some others start feeling some pain...

“What We Ain’t Got” leaves me in a puddle of tears so not sure how or why this got tanked, even with this being a list of beloved songs for y’all.
“Missing” also got screwed, gorgeous neo-traditional song.
It brings me immense joy to see “Tequila” come in last place, it’s dreadful

So since Bboat celebrates Easter, does that mean this RD won't rise for another 2 days?

Everything about Missing is gorgeous, just an incredible song. The video is also captivating. That said, completely agree with you. Overjoyed that Tequila is out so quickly. What a piece of dreck.

Y'all noticed the rain, but you didn't take note of the surface upon which the rain is falling...... And the sitting on the porch thing is of course taken from the next line of the chorus!

Josh Turner's voice is still smooth af in Lay Low. Probably a bit of stretch to call this one of the best of decade and the fact that it barely made in the list to begin with means it would leave early, but still.

Josh Turner has one of the best male voices in country music, and frankly I'm not sure if we will ever have another true bass vocalist as incredibly well-rounded as he is. From the top to the bottom of his range, he just sounds so smooth at all times!
That being said, "Lay Low" is hardly one of his more noteworthy songs, and I was a bit surprised to look back and see this made it to the top 10 in 2015 rankdown, while the much better known "Hometown Girl" didn't end up making it nearly this high the next year. It feels like one of the more forgotten songs on this list imo, and many of us have probably never once heard it played recurrent on the radio, lol. It's also not a song that really shows off what makes him such a unique vocalist.
I do absolutely love this one though, so no complaints from me to see it escape the bottom 5!!!! This is a case of it makes sense for it to be so low, but I don't necessarily agree with it from a quality standpoint.

So just a warning, our next song was literally at #3 shortly into the submission process, before plummeting all the way down to #94 and finishing at its lowest point... I've pretty much never seen a trajectory graph like this in a regular year-end rd!

There’s about 7 or 8 Kacey Musgraves songs in here that fit this same description, but yet here we are.

Sorry to the 7 people who put this song in their top 20... I have heard this song probably a dozen times now over the course of my life for various reasons (listening for curiosity, ranking for rankdowns, etc.) and I STILL cannot for the life of me remember how this goes!!! David Nail is not one of my favorite vocalists anyway, but there are definitely ones I prefer to this one ("Let It Rain" and "Red Light" both immediately come to mind).
That being said, even though I never remember this one, I do remember that I don't dislike it or anything! It is a perfectly pleasant listen, even if forgettable. And perfectly pleasant is a direct ticket to the bottom 10 in a list this strong. And I'm sure I would find it more memorable with a different vocalist.

3. What is going to have the bad luck of exiting first??"A Little More Country Than That" really sticks out like a sore thumb on this list so hopefully that... Well, it didn't leave in last place like our friend lady𝓐fan was hoping, but "A Little More Country Than That" did end up being a pretty decisive bottom 10 finisher! Despite a strong start at #26 thanks to tim, it pretty much had a reverse-exponential curve, plummeting quickly before leveling off somewhere around the bottom 10. Easton Corbin has a wonderful neo-trad sound (especially starting out), and tbh he kinda occupied the same lane that William Michael Morgan would try to fill later in the decade. The same bro country movement that torpedoed WMM's career from day 1, however, also pretty much sealed the coffin around Easton Corbin's career around the same time. Before that happened though, Easton was able to secure a few big hits, and this is his debut and definitely one of his more popular ones! That being said, how did "Roll With It" do so much worse than this one?! That's the one I always think of first when I think of his career. And similar to WMM's "Missing", that song could have literally been one of George Strait's hits with very little changes in circumstance. I feel like ALMCTT on the other hand is a little less memorable than George's average. Still pretty good though!

Nope The Sound of Million Dreams is one of the best from the "power of songs" theme that Nashville loves to make. The piano did a great job in complementing the dynamic of this song. A Little More Country Than That deserved leaving in bottom 10 because it is just decent. The writing and melody are a bit awkward to listen to.

Both Easton Corbin and Josh Turner have amazing vocal, so sad to see their early exit! Especially Lay Low deserves better.

LMAO at me misnaming the song in the trajectory graph 😂 I had caught it on one page of my spreadsheet, but I guess not the other one!
Gary Allan saw a brief resurgence of popularity in 2012/2013, with "Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain)" becoming one of those elusive late-career hits that randomly blows up despite the artist's career appearing to be stagnant for a few years leading up to it. After that song was a hit, the followups didn't do much, and for that reason "It Ain't the Whiskey" is also what I would argue to be one of the more 'forgotten' songs of this rankdown. However, it's also not a surprise for me to see it here, because this song had an overwhelmingly positive reception on Pulse back in the day despite being a flop on the radio! Shame that this incredible song would pretty much represent Gary Allan's last legitimate attempt at radio... I know he's tried a few more since, but it's all felt so halfhearted. This was his last era of actually being promoted as if he had a shot...
