I remember being a teenager when Shania first came on the scene. I faithfully went to the local Media Play every weekend to check out the latest Billboard to see where she was charting that week as well as others I listened to. I would by anything with her name on it and when she finally toured I got 2nd row! I was amazed that I could hear her music on Country, Pop, and AC stations unlike any other Country artists until LeAnn Rimes came along. Her videos amazed me. Now in my 40s I still am as big of fan as I was at 14 when I first saw the "Whose Bed" video and I was hooked. I can't wait for this album! Shania along with Reba, Dolly, KT Oslin, Tanya and Wynonna were the artists who first made me fall in love with music. But yeah I can't believe it's been so long. Seems like just yesterday "The Woman In Me" came out and amazed the world! I've been to Vegas twice to see her and again seeing her this Summer here in NC!

I just turned 42 and ‘Boots and Any Man were huge when I just got to high school. There was even a karaoke event in the cafeteria and a girl and her boyfriend sang ‘Boots. 😋 On another note, I’m obsessed with Giddy Up! But yeah, the La Las are kinda meh, I feel like Mutt would have had a better idea for that section.

Everyone in High School was listening to Shania's "Woman In Me" and "Come on Over." The girls wanted to be like her and the boys wanted to be with her! She was pretty much the hottest thing in Country as well as Pop until Britney and Christina came along when Shania already had pretty much achieved future legend status.

She revealed some of the lyrics from "Best Friend" on her Instagram stories.
"When you forget where you belong I put on my favorite song to remind you You're my best friend, that's who you are You're my best friend, that's who you are"

Giddy Up is at 6.2 million streams and is set to pass Waking Up Dreaming (currently at 6.3 million). And Last Day of Summer and Not Just A Girl are both over 1 million.
Not bad numbers going into the album launch next Friday! 😻

I already love the songs released so far from the new album. She's hitting new highs in her career. I plan on streaming this all week for maximum streaming points lol. I love that's she seems in love with music like it's her first album all over again. I just love that for her. She's in a great place in her life I couldn't be happier for her.

I love "Giddy Up", "Waking Up Dream" sounded somewhat generic to me.

Waking Up Dreaming samples Footloose by Kenny Loggins, so I love it for that reason. (and the uplifting message and outrageous video costumes)

Guess I'll suffer through Zane's douchey insufferableness to watch.

Loved the interview with Daddy Zane. Wasn't my favorite interview of his, but Shania is so warm and lovable. Wasn't into that wig, but...I want that suit!! OMG. I was surprised to hear her say she wanted to work with Mutt. Even though she says he would not be down, I would love to see it happen!

I absolutely love every song on this album. But right now my favorites are "Queen of Me" and "Number One".

This album is awesome! Miles above Now. I could have seen this as a legit follow up to Up back in the day. Sounds like a natural progression of her production/sound.
I would actually only rank COO and TWIM above this in her discography.

Any thoughts on where this will end up on the Billboard 200?

I love this woman so much. She looked amazing! The apple interview was indeed a great and informing watch. I loved it. And Zane Low was actually tolerable, although he cut her off at some good points. 🙄

Any thoughts on where this will end up on the Billboard 200? Selling well digitally, and with the vinyl variants, I anticipate a #1 debut.

Overall, it's pretty good! For sure several skippable ones but definitely some good solid material too! It's hard to compare to her older stuff from her peak, but I do think I like this one better than Now (from 2017). Her newer stuff sounds a little over-produced (borderline robotic at times), but I'm sure that's just from her recovering from Lymes Disease. It's still nostalgic hearing her voice and takes me back to growing up in a rural area where EVERYONE loved Shania.
My Fav 5: 1. Giddy Up! - this one goes hard and probably the most like her older stuff. Uptown Funk meets Country. 2. Waking Up Dreaming - I know it underperformed but I feel like if this weren't the lead single, we'd all have complained saying it should have been. 3. Pretty Liar - Most "edgy" maybe. My jaw literally dropped when she sang the F-word. 4. Brand New - This one's pretty catchy. 5. Inhale/Exhale AIR - Am I crazy or does she sound like Kelsea Ballerini (or is it featuring her?)? Either way, this one's solid.

I loved hearing that her son had a hand in “Number One.”
Giddy Up! Pretty Liar (the bridge is kinda wack though lol) Best Friend Brand New Waking Up Dreaming Number One AIR Got It Good
The rest I could do without.
Overall, it’s a much better listen than NOW. I won’t compare it to her diamond trilogy, but it’s a good album, nonetheless.

I like this album a lot! NOW was very skippable all over. This is a pleasant listen, catchy, modern and still harkens back to Up!, I think.
Am I crazy as well or is Paula Abdul singing backup on Inhale/Exhale? I know that sounds weird, lol, but her voice is so distinctive and I've never heard anyone else sound like Paula.

These short songs are the new norm, I get it. Anyway, I'm really liking "Brand New" and "Got It Good".
