I understand why Heat Waves is still around. I only discovered it a couple months ago and I'm currently loving it and streaming it a lot. It's not my fault it was already at like 40 weeks on the Hot 100 by the time I got around to hearing it lol.

If my math is right, current streams were 28% of streaming in 2021 and is 33.5% of streaming in 2022. Either way that's obviously around 1/3 of streaming, but you'd think it would be getting smaller if only because each year we add more years of music that is catalog streaming.

I was told to wait for the video release to help this one.

It did seem to get a little boost on Spotify the first few days after the video release, and the video views itself aren't bad, but yeah its not making the kind of upward moves I had hoped for, and compounding the situation is that it was released mid-week, actually backtracking two places on last week's chart (even removing the album bombs I think someone showed it might not have even made top 20) and unclear if it will go any higher this week, though I can see why she did that because she didn't want to compete with the Weeknd. We can't say that it's all done and over now though, it's possible it might be a slow burner, and if anything good might come from the residency postponement, people might be more focused on listening to this single now.

It always amazes me how much staying power songs by The Neighbourhood have. They have 3 songs in the top 100 on Spotify with Sweater Weather, Daddy Issues, and Softcore, all of which came out at least 4 years ago. Sweater Weather and Daddy Issues have been lingering around the upper regions of the Spotify charts for over a year now, and Softcore could end up doing the same For a band that's only charted on the hot 100 once, this is pretty remarkable.

Given how Heat Waves has hung around the top of Spotify for this long, it makes me wonder if Glass Animals will see the same kind of streaming success, especially when many fans agree that they have better songs than Heat Waves.

It's also rumoured that cardi & kanye are dropping a song either in february or March. If so, that's going to be a very easy #1 debut and knock Adele off.

The AM community is just loyal to his music, but we know he’s not pure selling anything. The Drake deluxe track also helps Gunna rack in more streams from crossover audiences. Maybe Abel benefits a lot more from physical sales and there’s a lot of people who cherish his music by having it on a vinyl, cd or even cassettes which honestly complete the retro theme of this era.

According to HITS, Pushin P increased 13% in streams, but Spotify streams increased whopping 25% so AM was pretty stable without a big increase even though it's been #1 there all the time.

Bruno has 0 airplay, Heat Waves and EOM's streams are equal, but EOM has that big lead in airplay and sales. So, my guess is pushin P, only if it stabilizes at around 30M streams and has decent airplay.

It will either be Bruno or Pushin P. Heat Waves is almost 2 years old and is either at or very close to its ceiling. Bruno and Pushin P are less than a month old and still have a lot of room to grow.

Personally, I would be fine if "We Don't Talk About Bruno" dethrones Adele off #1. But as of right now, none of them have a plausible chance of dethroning her, so maybe 12-14 weeks at #1 should be right.

Heat Waves has definitely not hit it's ceiling yet. Not saying that I think Heat Waves will go #1, but Easy On Me has peaked on every radio format and is falling. Heat Waves still has room to grow on Pop, Hot AC, and AC.

All the Doja Cat singles have been streamed a lot and burned a lot of demand already so they'll have to settle for top 10 peaks.

A very good summary of what is happening right now, and I hate all of it because it's boring I love Adele, but it will just feel odd if EOM becomes some 14 week number one and is so far ahead of her other classics.
