As previously mentioned, Dua was interviewed by Jimmy Fallon and she mentioned that her third album is described as psychedelic pop.

She'll also be interviewed on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Monday... Why is she not performing on any of these shows? She could have debuted on the Billboard Music Awards (the last award show we have for the year) or SNL (which I'm guessing is being saved closer to the album release?).

My only guess is she’s saving the performances until after the holidays when the Christmas songs are no longer clogging up the charts. But it still doesn’t make sense why she wouldn’t just wait a month to do these talk show appearances.

Then why not wait until after the holidays to release the song if they didn't plan to promote it now? Anyhow, it seems that she's more focused on pushing Dance the Night for the Oscars right now.

Anyhow, it seems that she's more focused on pushing Dance the Night for the Oscars right now. Yes, this seems to be the plan for now. I mean, not necessarily for the Oscars, but for the film awards where she could score a nomination for Original Song. It's a long shot, but it could do wonders with a good promotion. Regarding "Houdini", it seems that it's a vehicle to let the public know that she has an upcoming album due out (early) next year and although the strategy of not performing the single is weird, I assume it's because of holidays and I expect that the full promotion is going to begin in January.

Dua was interviewed by AP Entertainment and she talks how she decides an album's genre, being an specific and unreleased song which helped her to take the direction of this album.

No reason why she can't promote both Houdini and Dance the Night in her interviews. I would also rather her not fully promote Houdini since there's no shot she can get good peaks during Christmas.

"Dance the Night" has been shortlisted, alongside "I'm Just Ken" and "What Was I Made For?" from Barbie, for Best Original Song on the Oscars.

I'd say if they ever narrow down the list to just two Barbie songs, Dua's the one to cut but I hope they nominate all three.

Only two songs from the same film can be nominated. So one of them is definitely getting cut.

I took that post as Dua just celebrating making the shortlist, regardless of the rule.

Only two songs from the same film can be nominated. So one of them is definitely getting cut. Unfortunately I think "Dance the Night" will be the one left out. We'll see though - she's campaigning hard! On the bright side, I think Billie Eilish might end up being the youngest person to win two Oscars after this season.

Even if "Dance the Night" doesn't win an Oscar, it's still up for two Grammys which the song definitely deserves.

In my opinion, Dance The Night is much more deserving than I’m Just Ken. Although, of all three I’d still pick What Was I Made For

I took that post as Dua just celebrating making the shortlist, regardless of the rule. Yeah, I agree with that, but the fact that Dua's celebrating making the shortlist makes me think that she's also aware that she couldn't make it. Even if "Dance the Night" doesn't win an Oscar, it's still up for two Grammys which the song definitely deserves. That's true, but "Dance the Night" is against "What Was I Made For" in both categories too...

Confirmed by a reliable source that the planned music video shot back in September was for "Training Season", which was meant to be the lead single of the album instead of "Houdini".

I’m now really curious to hear Training Season since that was the initial lead single and how it stands up against Houdini. I’m sure the last minute single swap threw off their promo plans and is probably why we got a basic video for Houdini.

She is on Seth's show again on Tuesday............ still not performing. Guessing it's "Barbie" promo for "Dance the Night."

My bets are on a Coachella headlining spot too. Looks like it's not going to happen, although I'm wondering the reasons of the timing. From HITS:
