I was under the impression it was just streaming, but maybe I'm wrong lol Someone pls clarify Global 200 and Hits of the World differences please View AttachmentThis is how the section "Hits of the world" looked in 1996. It's really funny you picked this exact week to show off, 'cause looking at the Australia portion of that chart, I saw 'Apple Eyes' by Swoop reaching its top 10 peak. I was just listening to that song the other day. Also, yeeessss to seeing 'It's Alright' by Deni Hines also in the top 10 that week! How this chart is compiled: A ranking of the top songs based on streaming and sales activity from within the country- as tracked by MRC Data. The ranking is based on a weighted formula incorporating official-only streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of leading audio and video music services, plus download sales from top music retailers within the territory.

Is there a full list of the countries included in the new chart? Also, what was the intention with this new chart? It's not a chart but a series of charts. Many of which serve as de-facto official songs chart for countries that only have airplay or streaming charts. The full markets with top 25 charts go as follows: So 43 new charts in total. Sweet, thank you! So it's basically like that section they used to have in the original magazine way back when (like in the 80s and stuff). Great, Portugal is included! Kinda wish they'd started this a long time ago (or, yunno, kept it going).

Lmao Daisies reached #40 less than two years ago. "Daisies" chart run (just for fun): #40 (debut) - May 30, 2020 #79 (-39) - June 6, 2020 #74 (+5) - June 13, 2020 #69 (+5) - June 20, 2020 #76 (-7) - June 27, 2020 #79 (-3) - July 4, 2020 #79 (=) - July 11, 2020 OUT - July 18, 2020 It spent virtually half of its time on the Hot 100 parked at No. 79, which I find funny. Let's see if "When I'm Gone" has what it takes to top the 7 weeks "Daisies" survived on the chart.

Wow didn’t know he had that much power I think he's still mad about predicting STAY would be number one that week 😂 and he still doesn't know what gaslighting means I’m still amazed at Stay losing out on a week at #1 during its peak to a song that was basically a dead #1. It would be like if WDTAB were to lose the #1 this upcoming week to Stay.

Lmao Daisies reached #40 less than two years ago. yeah, she kind of hasn't been missing from the Hot 100 "after years" lol, although obviously her rankings are much lower and brief now, and the fact that its been such a struggle for WIG to chart shows that she's even more on the decline, rather than this being some sort of comeback. she's done as a pop star, but that's ok because she had an enormously successful run for more than half a decade and will be a well-remembered legacy act.

Pretty much the entire top 10 has escaped my awareness. Most of them are Brazilian acts. Portugal seems to be the only market where Brazilian music is exported. Due to the language barrier, they do not have any impact in Spanish speaking countries of Latin America (and they usually don't consume a lot of music in Spanish neither).

I don't think "When I'm Gone" necessarily is any indicator for how her next era will perform. She had a similar thing with Zedd in early 2019 that charted for a week in the lower-fifth of the Hot 100, then came roaring back with a No. 15 debut for "Never Really Over." If she plays her cards right, I could see her lead single performing moderately well again—nothing like a Teenage Dream or PRISM hit single, but somewhat resembling NRO's run on the charts. I could see a Doja Cat feature working well for her if she wants to go the "Rain on Me" route for some chart success.

I feel like her and Lil Wayne are basically on the same level in terms of charting success in the 2020s but at least they are still able to chart which is still impressive. I’m glad they did have at least some sort of spotlight with Witness and Tha Carter V respectively, but anything after that is pretty much done in terms of hit making, unless if they got on a remix which turns out to be a lucky hit which both did experience once in recent times.

What was the remix for both of them? But I think Tha Carter 6 will still do crazy numbers and debut some songs top 10 - remember Mona Lisa barely missed the number one

I think she's gonna keep the diminishing returns of her last few leads - Roar #1, then CTTR #4, NRO #15... I think she can definitely reach top 30 with the right push if it's a solo song... if it's a feature... who knows. Look at how Ed/Taylor is performing, the song is just as important as the names.

What makes Sunflower's run more impressive is that it successfully made the transition from the UGC era to the post-UGC era, whereas Gangnam Style's run happened at a time when streaming wasn't quite mainstream. To put into perspective how big Sunflower is, think about this: It is even charting higher than Blinding Lights (which is #1 on the all-time Hot 100) on the streaming songs chart, and Sunflower was released more than a year before BL! Sunflower should have been Top 10 on the all-time Hot 100, but for whatever reason, radio never really got on board with it.

I don’t think this was talked about at all but i feel more bad that DWHAP didn’t go #1 for Lil Baby. This is the 3rd time that’s he’s been blocked off the top spot in the past year and all the songs he’s been on debuted at #2 which makes it even more sad because they were all close races to the top spot.
