Regarding the Nicki/LB discussion, I think the single benefits both right out of the gate: Nicki has the rabid fanbase who might actually buy singles, and Lil Baby has the AM following that'll stream anything for a week or two. Then regarding potential longevity, it remains to be seen.

no offense, Best Friends is easily the worst song on Dawn FM I Heard You're Married is. Best Friends 2nd worst. The only single choices left on the album are Less Than Zero and Out Of Time hmm, fair. I get why people think I Heard You're Married is the worst and I don't like it either, but I think the production on Best Friends makes it way worse

I Heard You're Married is. Best Friends 2nd worst. The only single choices left on the album are Less Than Zero and Out Of Time hmm, fair. I get why people think I Heard You're Married is the worst and I don't like it either, but I think the production on Best Friends makes it way worse I warmed up to the song, but at first the beginning chords immediately reminded me of One Right Now mixed with Pray For Me and then throughout the verses that insanely forgettable Power Is Power song. I Heard You’re Married is just Over Now Part 2, which isn’t surprising since Calvin Harris produced both and they’re very boring to me so I don’t think they work well together imo.

Question, can an artist create multiple versions of a song and make it available on iTunes and their website and it still counts as sales of 1 song? Yes exactly what minaj & BTS did with trollz and dynamite? I thought billboard stopped artist from doing that?

^We already established that it is still minimal at this point with regard to its weekly points at about 2% compared to airplay driven songs, which I consider have 60% or more of their weekly Hot 100 points from airplay. Neglible airplay is what the rest of Encanto Hot 100 charting songs are getting.

The new nicki/baby single still holding pretty well everywhere minus youtube and partly spotify. Seems like it'll debut anywhere from #4-#7, possibly higher if the mass buying from her site mainly counts. The fans are going to be pretty disappointed in wasting all that money when they find out billboard will most likely filter out most of it though.

Didn't people say that Bruno would not be getting any airplay? I can only see it increasing much more from here on out. Having like 4 million AFTER going #1 on Hot 100 is basically none. Any single that goes #1 on Hot 100 usually starts getting some airplay due to the attention from it. Even Harlem Shake had 6 million audience it's 2nd week and it wasn't even sent to radio. This has 3.6 million audience in its 2nd week #1, per Billboard.

Bad and Boujee came close, but I heard it once on radio just after it hit #1 on the Hot 100, and that’s with accidentally scrolling through and stopping on the Hip Hop station. I haven’t heard WDTAB on radio yet, but unless radio picks it up more, I think it’s going to end up as a song I never hear on radio or one I hear only once. Even the #1 songs that had low airplay, like WAP, Dynamite, and Butter, I heard quite a few times.

Now that it's charting, I think I can safely say Infinity is one of the worst pop songs to chart in a while. Easily the worst song to debut this week (yes, even worse than that Chainsmokers song and X's label re-releasing a more than 6 year old song on streaming services). Pls don't make this a hit on radio.

Not sure how you managed to hear both Life Goes On & Permission to Dance since I don’t think they were sent to radio and only spent a single week at #1. Trollz & All Too Well were also played just as little as WDTAB. But there’s always a handful of stations that jump on a #1 so if you live in the right market and listen to radio at the right time I guess you can hear them.

In reading an old issue of Billboard, I just saw Mariah's cover of "I'll Be There" debuted at #4 on Hot 100 Airplay with 49 million impressions. I assume that 49 million was for Top 40 only, really, since Hot 100 Airplay didn't encompass all formats like it did by the late 90s. That would mean 1992 impressions for Top 40 weren't too different from current levels.

Yeah, I was excluding one-week #1’s like those that didn’t last long enough, though I did hear the original All Too Well quite a few times in the early 2010s. But once you get to multi-week at #1 territory, it becomes much more rare.
