I personally don't think Nicki was trying to sex shame other female rappers with that particular tweet. It's Nicki Minaj we're talking about lol. Sexual visuals always have been such a big part of her career and artistry. She knows that they sell and uses them strategically. (Anaconda, anyone?) I think she's just saying she knows her chart playbook so damn well but she didn't really follow it this time, which is why she had a lower expectation this time. But she has before actually. She did an interview a few years ago, referring basically to strippers and IG models (sex workers, in essence) as “modern day prostitutes”. She caught a lot of flack for it, if I recall. But, let’s give Nicki the benefit of the doubt and say (for once) she wasn’t throwing shade. Again, congrats to her. Wish her continued success moving forward. her jealousy of Cardi is affecting her legacy and making her lash out and look petty and foolish . If she indeed perceives herself as Queen , then don’t get petty and stay above the fray . It’s embarrassing |

I also find it pretty impressive that Lil Baby has had three songs debut at #2 in the last year. Both "Wants and Needs" and "Girls Want Girls" had decent longevity too. Hopefully he can get a #1 soon.
Nicki and Drake both have now released multiple singles with him to hype their return eras. The most successful male/female rappers of the last decade. It is similar to in 2009-2010 when Eminem/Jay-Z/Kanye were all rushing to do multiple songs with Drake & Nicki during their breakthrough and we saw how that translated. Pair that with the fact his last studio album did insanely well and continues to do so. It all feels like it's building up to one big moment incoming. His next era will be interesting. His team just needs to properly execute it and it could be colossal. I totally agree. I think they did a good job last album cycle with promoting 5 singles to radio which definitely helped with his stability on the Hot 100, while the album was dominating the Billboard 200. I could see him having a huge debut (maybe 300-400k) if the lead single is big and they promote it properly. |

You mean after Nicki’s repeated pot shots? Nicki had been throwing shade in songs, posts, etc. for several months….without Cardi ever uttering a word publicly. So give me a break. Until you show me evidence of Cardi’s fans sending threatening messages to Nicki about her child…I don’t want to hear it. Sounds to me like you’re trying to excuse some really deranged behavior. This woman has continued to take shots at Cardi…who hasn’t spoken on the topic in years. This coming after dissing her in songs, throwing shots in multiple interviews and on social media - all of which came before the shoe incident. This is after the multiple radio rants and Nicki linking up with bloggers like Tasha K to spread harmful narratives; after she “allegedly” paid for the lawyers of the two women who filed criminal charges against Cardi. The woman is obsessed. But I digress. I certainly am not trying to take a walk down memory lane. I only bring this up as context, respective to your earlier comments about “both fanbases engaging”. There is a major difference in behavior. Regardless, as I said, Nicki seems to not be able to accept accolades without discrediting others in the process. Nicki is 10+ years into her career having a Twitter meltdown about not going no.1. Like cmon, charts and stats should not be defining you or you music. You’re passed that stage now. Yeah, the Barbs should have bought more copies of the Instrumental Version and streamed it more to support their Queen. OC, that'd be the ultimate irony considering it's an instrumental.
Nicki's socials meltdown *is* an effective way of letting the GP know she's still releasing new music. Those 100 Barbs can't be expected to come through with every single release.
The real story in the Top 10 is JB - not only did 'Ghost' do the slow climb to the Top 10, but also I don't believe anyone though Justice would have this kind of longevity - especially with the pre-release singles.
