Take Care is Drake and Rihanna's best collab together 🔥. Just perfection.

So Wasted on You is apparently projected to re-enter this week thanks to being sent to radio and building momentum. And unlike most country hits, it actually has good streaming so despite the setback, it will still be the big hit it was likely set fore last year.
Morgan Wallen is (unfortunately) here to stay.
At least Something jn the Way will debut

Morgan Wallen is just picking up right where he left off, if only Wasted on You was as good as Sand in My Boots and 7 Summers though. At least Drunk is making a comeback, let’s see how long it’ll stay.

I could see Lizzo, Halsey, Post Malone, or Shawn Mendes trying something soon) Those four are not comparable in size, even with Post Malone having two recent “flops” Post Malone >>>> Halsey > Shawn Mendez > Lizzo Post Malone is coming off one of the most successful three year streaks (2017-2020) in music history

My point is, while all 4 are in very different places in their careers, I think they're each at a critical point where their next album cycle will tell us a lot about future success. The same couldn't be said for more consistent stars like Drake or Ariana imo. I definitely think the lack of a big established fanbase is a big reason why.

to be frank chart watching sucks right now but the little victories like Something In The Way charting are making it worth it

Unpopular opinion: I actually like the charts right now. It's kinda calming in a way and a bunch of longevity records are getting broken.

Good to at least see a few notable songs expected to go recurrent for once. Shame that includes One Mississippi getting its run caught between years, but eh, whatchu gonna do…

Set Fire To The Rain (9.5/10) 2. Somebody That I Used To Know (9/10) 3. Young, Wild & Free (9/10) 4. Take Care (9/10) 5. We Are Young (7/10) 6. Part Of Me (7/10) 7. Starships (6/10) 8. Stronger (5/10) 9. Glad You Came (3/10) 10. Turn Me On (2/10) 2017: 1. Rockabye (8.5/10) 2. Love On The Brain (8.5/10) 3. That's What I Like (7.5/10) 4. Bounce Back (6/10) 5. Paris (6/10) 6. Bad And Boujee (5/10) 7. Closer (4/10) 8. Shape Of You (3/10) 9. I Don't Wanna Live Forever (2/10) 10. Tunnel Vision (1/10) 2021: 1. Blinding Lights (10/10) 2. Levitating (9.5/10) 3. Save Your Tears (9/10) 4. Drivers License (9/10) 5. Leave The Door Open (9/10) 6. Wants And Needs (7.5/10) 7. Mood (7/10) 8. 34+35 (3/10) 9. Up (2/10) 10. What's Next (2/10) 2017 was really rough. Not a single great song in that top 10 imo and several bad ones. 2012 and 2021 are both great, 2021 in particular.

Kodak Black and Ed Sheeran being the only artists in the top 10 again 5 years later while teasing a collab together... is not something I would have guessed back in 2017

2017: 1. Tunnel Vision (1/10) 2017 was really rough. Not a single great song in that top 10 imo and several bad ones. So unbelievably disagree haha, that's one of the best top 10s ever 1. Rockabye (8.5/10) pretty accurate2. Love On The Brain (8.5/10) pretty accurate3. That's What I Like (7.5/10) pretty accurate4. Bounce Back (6/10) Big Sean is a super underrated rapper and this is one of his best (9/10)5. Paris (6/10) my bias showing, but even as one of the worst songs from MDNO, this song is still a (9/10)6. Bad And Boujee (5/10) one of, if not the best, rap songs to go number one in the past 10 years (9.5/10)7. Closer (4/10) the greatest song of all time (11/10)8. Shape Of You (3/10) so overplayed, but overplayed for a reason (8/10)9. I Don't Wanna Live Forever ( 2/10) I wish Taylor would do a song like this again, and Zayn at his best (9/10)10. Tunnel Vision (1/10) Honestly the worst song in the top 10, but still holds up really well 5 years later (6/10)

People out here giving 9.1s to songs and saying they’re just okay while anything they just below 7.5 is terrible. Sometimes other people”/ ratings confuse me. Then I give a song 3/5 with the intention of it being a decently good score and I feel like a monster.

I think in general people think 3/5 score is "bad" while "bad" is like 1.5/5 imo.

I think in general people think 3/5 score is "bad" while "bad" is like 1.5/5 imo. Yeah. For me it’s all relative. Giving every song 4 or more out of 5 means I can’t really distinguish between songs I enjoy a lot and ones that I think are next level. There’s no distinction - and they can’t all be amazing. For me, 5/5 is rare and to be used sparingly. 4.5 would be for excellent songs/albums that, again, wouldn’t be common. To me, a 3-3.5/5 is still a great score, and probably what I’d give out the most to songs I liked.
