ew why would they lead with "Ghost Story" when they had THIS the whole time?? I think they made the right decision between the two considering it’s releasing to country radio. I can’t see country radio playing D&R much, it sounds like a Bruno song with country references. |

Release Denim and Rhinestones (Song) now, Miss Carrie Underwood!!! I am Wanda. Anyway. The song is out in Australia. This is a BOP. 80s pop perfection. Reminds me of Cher meets Bruno music somehow? Its too short but feels like 2 min 48 sec in heaven. I think the team could see GS is not really connecting with her fans and general audience and testing if this will, thats why they release it asap |

Out on Spotify! This is SO GOOD! Such an 80s jam. Love love it! Much better than Ghost Story for me! Yeah ‘Ghost Story’ was boring at best to me with good vocals, and the Grammys performance was pretty much a snoozer, didn’t launch the song like other Grammy performances did. On the contrary, ‘Denim’ is quite sonically pleasing, reminds me a bit of Taylor Swift‘s ‘Style’. I am shocked that they led with ‘Ghost Story’ instead of ‘Denim’. |

Finally got to listen to the 90 second snippet. Just curious what direction she is going in for this album, because based on GS and D & R, it doesn’t sound like a country record to me. I personally hope the rest of the album is better because I am feeling underwhelmed currently.

I’d say release this to Country radio anyway. The lyric and her vocal is Country which should be enough. “The Fighter” reached #1 and always made an impact after any live performance.

I don’t even care that’s it’s not that country, this should’ve been the lead.
I like GS, but it’s a weird song - almost too weird. A great album track, but compared to this, a flat out poor choice for the lead single, imo.

I just watched an interview from last week with Carrie and noted that she referred to the album, Denim & Rhinestones, as a "project" instead of an album. I've seen other posters (many on Carrie Fans) speculating the possibility of a double album. I LOVE this idea and think it could work with the denim (country songs) and the rhinestones (pop/rock-leaning songs). It would be an excellent concept if executed well, especially as we don't get country albums from her as frequently as many fans would like.

If they want to make GS haunting in a heartbreaking way, they should have tweaked the lyrics a bit and make it a really slow ballad. No power vocals. The line "That keeping you up, all night memory" annoys me too. Feels so poorly constructed. |
