It's amazing how consistent Some Hearts has been over the years. We're Young and Beautiful is really the only miss from that album.

Just got out of the concert in Philly (go birds!). Confirms that Burn is the best song on the album and is such a missed opportunity for her. Overall, fantastic show!

You know Carrie's at a point in her career when she has many unreleased gems. I know it's more challenging having switched record companies (also I realize she didn't write all of them), but a "Second Chances" project would be cool. Re-record and maybe even reinterpret them. Prime candidates from her Sony days:
Wine After Whiskey Lessons Learned ( a real opportunity to reinterpret; lyrics line up better with her now; she was too young for it the first time) I Know You Won't (I think a quieter version with her killer falsetto would be interesting) Someday When I Stop Loving You Like I'll Never Love You Again You Won't Find This Relapse
Never gonna happen, just having a little wishful thinking that started when Wine After Whiskey came up on shuffle today. Oh to have that on radio...

As much as I love most of Carrie's older songs that would fit the bill as "needing second chances", I don't know that I would support a whole album dedicated to this when Carrie's albums are few and far between as is. I don't know that a whole tour would fit the bill either, but perhaps a couple of concerts or a mini tour of sorts would be better for this sort of thing. Or a Netflix concert maybe.

As I said, I don't think it is ever gonna happen. I was just having a little fun. But, continuing the discussion like it could happen, I agree it probably wouldn't be a tour-supported album. That wouldn't make sense. It would have to be more like a gap project between album cycles (which artists do all the time). Similar to "My Gift" or "My Savior," or just an EP. But, the difference would be that one, maybe two, singles could be sent to radio. I still think, for example, "Nothing But the Blood of Jesus" from "My Savior" could been given a shot at Country radio. Could also be like a "Greatest Hits" album cycle, just with a twist.

I mean, Greatest Hits Decade II should be coming up… if she intended to continue that? Lol. I know that was a previous label, but who knows?.. If we got something like that, re-recordings of fan-favorite album tracks as bonus material would be a major selling point.

If we got something like that, re-recordings of fan-favorite album tracks as bonus material would be a major selling point. I was actually just thinking about that today when Something in the Water came up on my shuffle. 2024 will be 10 years since Decade I. Do we think Decade II will be her next project? How will that work, with Storyteller's singles technically being Arista-owned? I don't think she'd have enough material for a Decade II without the Storyteller songs at this point. Smoke Break Heartbeat Church Bells Dirty Laundry The Champion Cry Pretty Love Wins Southbound Drinking Alone Ghost Story Hate My Heart Single #3 from D&R Single #4 from D&R(?) Something from My Savior(?) Hallelujah(?) Favorite Time of Year(?) The Fighter w/ Keith Urban Somethin' Bad w/ Miranda Lambert New Song New Song It would be a stretch even with the Storyteller songs tbh. And I don't know that she would actually put Christmas songs on it, but Kelly Clarkson did on hers so who knows. I know Carrie did those songwriter sessions for some of the Decade I songs, So Small and Last Name. She could probably do 1-2 things like that to fill up space if need be. I might be forgetting about 1-2 collabs.

^^ There’s one notable omission imo. Love or hate the duet partner, IIDLY is a definite lock for Decade II. There’s no way they’d leave off her biggest hit since “Church Bells” (or arguably even since “Blown Away”).
Her performances from the 2020 and 2021 ACM Awards would be lovely to have on Decade II as well. I especially think they’ll tack on her rendition of “Softly & Tenderly” from the 2017 CMAs.

Are greatest hits even a thing anymore? I feel like if you want to help her streaming this isn’t really the way to do it.

Regardless if Greatest Hits are needed in streaming times or not, the fact she called her first one 'Decade #1' makes me need her to release a second decade one for at least completion sake. I absolutely do not like when an artist releases a part one of an album and doesn't release a part two.

Don't think we'll get another GH any time soon. Her singles since the first project haven't come close to matching her prior singles, the biggest solo hits were all from a different label that she'd have to re-record, and I think GH#1 happened mostly because she was pregnant and wanted to have some time to not promote a full era. Greatest Hits albums make so little sense nowadays anyway. It'll be awhile before we see that from her, I'm sure of it.

It is possible for deals to be worked out between labels to allow singles from one label to be on a collection for another; Janet had "TTWLG" from Virgin added to A&M's Design of a Decade, and Mariah had her Universal #1s added to Sony's #1 to Infinity.
Anyway hits sets are certainly less relevant in the era of streaming, but they aren't non-existent either. Even if it would be a less dynamic collection that her first, Carrie certainly has enough hits to make a new set (especially since 1-2 new songs would be added).

I'm sure UMG could buy the right's for Storyteller from Sony if they truly want to, if they did want to make a GH2. I know Big Machine bought the rights to Lady A's Christmas album after they moved over there so I know that type of stuff does happen.
Kind of feel like we are going to get another special project next. Maybe like a rock album or a covers album if I were to guess.

I don't see a point in releasing greatest hits album anymore when even a regular album has a hard time with sales.
I would rather they think of creative ways to boost streaming, refresh image, work on interesting side projects etc, instead of trying to continue an idea from 10 years ago for collection's sake.

Someone just posted on Carrie Fans (they post here too) that She Don’t Know is featured in a new country playlist on Spotify! And apparently the playlist (New Country Boots) includes a lot of new singles at country radio too 🤔🤔🤔🤔

She don’t know also has a star next to it on Apple Music which I assumed is usually only put next to singles. I’m wondering if this is a sign pointing to it being the next single 🤔 in addition to it being on the New Country playlist or maybe they are just testing it out?! Idk

I think an all-out arena rock side project is probably the right move. She’s always received a lot of praise when she’s in that mode. It’s been especially evident with the recent GNR collaborations and the PEE performances. But I want her to actually work with collaborators in that field - not just Chris DeStefano co-writes.
I’m on board with SDK as a single. Probably my favorite performance from the D&R tour actually. She really sells the story.
As for freshening up her image, I don’t see that happening. Carrie is almost 40 and posting her sourdough creations on Instagram. I think she’s comparable to P!nk in that she’s settled into her current image. I don’t think she’s keeping up with aesthetic trends or anything lol. She’s working on a greenhouse and going to church.

If Carrie were to change her image, people would say it's not authentic. There really is a no win situation when it comes to that.

11s! Aww we’re getting close to the end. Hope everyone has had a little fun with this though 😄
1. The More Boys I Meet (I still remember when this was rumored to be single #5 instead of ITYS. The station I listen to in Phoenix —KNIX— actually started playing it for a few weeks too. It sounded really good on radio!)
2. She Don’t Know 3. End Up With You 4. That’s Where It Is 5. Unapologize
6. Leave Love Alone- I remember when this one too was rumored to be single. Someone even posted what appeared to be a legit adds banner for the song in All Access. Some said it was fake though…guess we may never know lol 7. The Girl You Think I Am
So 2 of the #11 tracks had single rumblings and now She Don’t Know does too. Guess it’s something about the 11s and potential singles hahaha

Could...could it be... a similar ranking to carriefan15 lol.
