I put these comments in the wrong thread initially:
I want commercial success for her. I really do. But, more than that, I just want her to continue to make music and be able to see her perform live. Just make great music, Carrie. Take chances. You've earned that right. I selfishly have thoughts on the type of music I'd love to hear from her, but she's going to do what she wants to do. Will be interesting to see what that is. I do think she's not done with Christian music yet, so I'm pretty sure she'll do something in that genre again at some point. Whether it is original music or another album of hymns, I am unsure. In my opinion, "My Savior" was one of her most cohesive, well produced projects she's done. I could feel her passion for the material for sure.

Y'all think we'll get a new album this year? No, logically I don't think we get CU8 until late fall of 2025. Cody Johnson will release "Dirt Cheap" as a single soon, since "The Painter" is about to go #1, which will take 6-7 months to peak; during this time UMG will probably keep on with OOTT until it doesn't have any more steam. So that means the duet will probably follow in November through early January. Then the duet would have to peak probably sometime mid next year. Then a lead could probably be released in late summer early fall, and the album would have to follow that. Honestly just by typing out the timeframe of all this makes me thing the album might not come out until early 2026. The only way it comes sooner is if they overlap the duet, which I don't see them doing. For some reason I do think she might do some things in between, maybe a GH#2 this year, maybe a Some Hearts 20th anniversary edition next year with some new things, maybe something else side project related. |

Kane Brown became the 8th country artist with a certified RIAA Diamond single for “Heaven”… this got me thinking, BHC has got to be closing in on Diamond, no? At least 9x Platinum?
On that note, Some Hearts has to be close to Diamond too? So I wonder if we’ll get updated certifications across the board anytime soon?
I would imagine it still benefits Carrie’s prior management/label to certify her records, but I do wonder if they might update whenever Carrie is getting ready for her next era - would an old label work with a new label in that way? Not sure how it works.
I guess I’m asking, are there any “experts” with estimates as to Carrie’s upcoming certifications? And generally speaking when do we think they’ll happen?
I have to imagine by the next album Carrie’s total record sales (albums + singles) will be nearing 100 million, that is just mind boggling!!!

Side note… is it common knowledge Chris Stapleton does background vocals on “Somethin’ Bad?” Cause I saw some people talking about it on Twitter, so I checked myself on the album notes and he is LOL.
Also, a radio guy from here confirmed that “Dirt Cheap” is Cody Johnson’s next single, so the duet won’t be till late this year early next year most likely.

Capital seems like the superior and far more legendary label, so it would be pretty shocking if Capital Nashville goes away. I don’t know if the same has become true for the Nashville labels, but the folding of all of UMG’s labels into two main labels is true. Just happened a couple days ago, I believe. Republic and Interscope have become the two main label companies of UMG, with labels like Capitol being merged into the two. They still exist, but when a song is promoted to radio by Capitol (again, not sure if this is the same for country, although it would make sense), it will look to programmers like this: Label: Capitol/Interscope So if this merger affects country radio as well, CU is being promoted by both Capitol/Interscope. She’s still on Capitol, it’s just now being overseen by Interscope. (This is just based off what I have read, I don’t work in the industry lol so I don’t know how right or wrong I am. Take this with a grain of salt.) |

Those are REFLECTION visuals. The look above is from the “Good Girl” screens. I remember thinking that visual fit the song perfectly.
She should add OOTT to the setlist and post a video to Insta. The recent Opry performance of OOTT already has over 300k views and has surpassed the previous videos. There is interest in this song.

The Masked Singer starts tonight… this is obviously so random and just my brain trying fill a void, but I’m half expecting to eventually hear Carrie’s voice on the show. It wouldn’t be a terrible move for her, imo, and she’s been particularly quiet career wise this year until this week, which happens to be the return of her Vegas show.
Just a thought. I’m perched and parched.
