She looks absolutely gorgeous in the video, but God is it boring. I’d rather them release her performance from the CMT Awards as the official music video than this.

I feel as if there is no one around her who tells her honestly that the music videos aren't good. Glamour shots are not music videos. It's such a waste of promo opportunity and money. The carebears have to start boycotting the CMT Awards. We keep awarding Randee Video of the Year. It’s on us! 🤷♂️ Yeah I will continue to vote my heart out no matter what the song/video is. Why do most of Randee's videos always feel so cheaply edited? Acting is usually painful too. I can't remember liking any of her videos since Blown Away music video. Her videos always try to look pretty but brings absolutely no added meaning/perspective/fun/value to the song. Hardly ever sells the song or bring much re-watch value. Why does Carrie keep going back to her for videos? I don't get what Carrie sees! I also think it has to do with her being a woman too. Not a sexism thing but I think she wants to promote as many creatives that are women because she knows that is just as important as having female singers in country music. Hillary Lindsey and the Love Junkies in general being consistently used collaborators is the perfect example of this. Surely there are other women directors, though. There are even other women she's worked with if familiarity is an issue. Trey Fanjoy could be a good choice, and Carrie worked with her on "Somethin' Bad." A woman directed her videos for "CC" and "GG," too, no? |
