Someone told me a company now comes and puts out the cds, so it will be out on the shelf when that person gets to the store. I was told it could be in an hour, 5 hours or even next week. I don't know if UMG / the label hires that person, but whoever is in charge of it...should be given a stern talking to.

A combination of both. Have you seen GS YouTube numbers for the music video and audio. Very low to be from a lead single from someone like Carrie.

Also to add: 'My Savior' sold 73,000 copies first week last year - 68,000 of which were physical editions. How do you go from that to this in one year. Especially from a Gospel album to her regular country style.

I don’t feel like the promo has been that bad. I mean, she’s been on the news cycles and what not, had the Amazon concert, and Ghost Story isn’t doing poorly. Ghost Story had a well talked about performance from the CMT Awards, so I don’t blame that. This is puzzling, to say the least. That number is tough to swallow.

I thought the promotion for the album has been quite good so far. She'll be in Fallon in a few days to promote so I hope that at least does something decent.

"GS" isn't doing all that well. It only just now made the country streaming chart, where it debuted at #22. As a lead single it definitely didn't bring much hype.

Seems awfully low… Not to sound cliche but could it be because people are broke? Was hoping for 75k or so, but the promo is lacking… then again, people are starting their summer vacations, a lot less people watching tv in general. Still, below 50k is surprising…. But hardly a “flop” and I’m sure the story of this album will be its legs. I bet she scores a few big hits with this one!

Welp. If the album is going to perform like this then they need to make this a complete radio focused era. Radio didn’t matter as much last era because it was still selling, but with this one she needs the songs that stand the best chance at connecting.
They already fumbled with GS (idk who chose that, if it was Carrie I really wish that her management wouldn’t be afraid to tell her it might not be a good idea.)Especially considering the songs she had up her sleeve for this album.

Miranda's album sold 36,000 first week a couple weeks ago. If Carrie doesn't even reach that, I would be beyond shocked. Like I like Miranda but Carrie has always been a big seller compared to her.

At least Carrie will be in good company. Do artists care about their album sales anymore unless it puts them at risk of being dropped from their label (which...Carrie isn't)? She will continue to pack it in at tours and keep living her best life. Meanwhile, let's focus on how she delivered with this album. The uptempos on this album are the best uptempos Carrie has ever done. Poor Everybody Else continues to be a career-defining song. Faster continues to be an absolute stunner. Pink Champagne is the ultimate bop. Denim & Rhinestoooooones has really grown on me. I sing it the most of all the songs. The melody is just so sticky. The production is SO tight but also intricate. The drums go OFF. Does anyone hear Nick Jonas's Spaceman album in D&R? I do. Also, I am kinda surprised people are complaining she isn't giving vocals on this album. Poor Everybody Else ALONE serves through the whole damn song. Ghost Story has trademark Carrie vocals, especially in the chorus. It's not like Carrie has belted throughout every one of her albums in the past, anyway, LOL.

Long story short, don't cry for Carrie.

Another issue is that country radio moves at a glacial pace these days, so "GS" isn't going to peak there for months. It isn't selling the album, and a better single needs to be out there yet won't be until fall. Ugh.

Kinda upset. She probably won’t even get to continue her #1 country album streak now because of Morgan Wallen. He sold like 60k last week. Carrie never should’ve left Sony BMG, because Capitol has dropped the ball here big time. 28-30k is a colossal joke compared to her previous albums. It’s a shame because this is easily one of her best albums.

I mean, maybe. But at the end of the day, the move is what Carrie wanted. This isn’t something she was pushed towards. She gets to work with who she chooses now, which for her, I think is the most important. Also, it isn’t unusual for someone who is approaching two decades into their career to not come close to matching sales from when they launched. She’s fine. She’s not going anywhere. Outside of the label, us hardcore fans are the only ones who really care about sales anyway.

Something is off with distribution of this album. My Gift opened with 41k in SEPTEMBER 2020 and My Savior opened with 68k physical units just last year.

Her audience still buys physical at retailers and they weren’t stocked. I don’t know who’s to blame for that tho.
