I’d assume it will hit streaming/digital stores at the end of the countdown.
I think we'll get a snippit today.

Either it’s about loss, or a breakup. It sounds so promising.

This is obviously out there in full at this point. She knocked it out of the park. I love all of the little flourishes in the arrangement and her phrasing. It’s ghastly without being too on-the-nose. Her vocal is incredibly emotive. Also the perfect vehicle for some dramatic live performances. I’m impressed.

It’s about a breakup. Production is great, and I really like the lyrics. Nice spin on a lost love. It’s a well-done country pop mid-tempo. Nothing over-the-top, not too loud, didn’t throw the kitchen sink at it in the studio.
It’s very Blown Away-meets-Cry Pretty vibes. Here for it. Excited for the album!

Waltz tempo ballad! I love them and feel like CU doesn't do many of those.

I really like the song - relaxed, yet biting. Not sure it’s going to be a radio smash, but it’ll be on repeat with me for sure.

How she delivers that chorus after the bridge reminds me of what a special vocalist Carrie is. She’s truly special. The song sounds new, but also familiar. Love this one after first few listens.
This comment may make those of you who haven’t heard it nervous, but I can’t not hear it: I feel like there’s a Disney sound to this. But, like, in a “Let It Go” good way…? And not at all cheesy or childish. Idk. Maybe it’s just me. Excited to read what others think.
ETA: I’m curious to see how this performs. It sounds pretty different than what they’re playing at country radio.

Unpopular opinion - this was chosen for its Tik Tok viral possibility. I can already see the Tik Toks being made with this sound.

Which part or what about it do you think is catering to the Tik Tokers? Just curious : ) I was just thinking of how one thing I can say with full confidence is how it’s a Carrie Underwood song. Proud of her for not chasing trends for airplay (after the airplay success of “Southbound”, for instance). This is a style of music that I think she’s put her trademark on.

Is this being added to the residency?
I saw she's playing when I'll be in Vegas soon and the snippet sounds promising. I'd like to hear it live.

You’re right in this being 100% Carrie, I mean chosen as a lead single. Specifically the haunting/wanting rhyme I can see, well, white people making videos to of their old relationships. It’s not a bad thing! The song is verrrrry hard to get out of your head. I’ve already learned most of the words haha.

Not overly familiar with Tik Tok, so I was thinking of mostly viral dances, which I wouldn't consider this song for. I hope the whites can turn this into a viral smash

Add me to the request line.
Today was awful. My boss lost her husband in an accident and the state police came to the office to tell her. We just got home from bringing her home. I really need a distraction.
Thanks ❤️

For the ones that have heard it would you consider it more or less radio friendly than the Cry Pretty singles (minus Southbound.)

For the ones that have heard it would you consider it more or less radio friendly than the Cry Pretty singles (minus Southbound.) I would say it's more radio friendly than CP, LW, and DA. I'd compare it the most to LW (but like it much more). I feel like if BA x SITW x Backsliding were a throuple, their spawn would be GS. BUT I don't really listen to country radio any more. With my understanding of the current sound that's popular at the moment, I do think this may stick out, which may not help it. What can help is it that it's a very easy song to sing along to and the melody is instant and infectious. I'm pretty curious to see how this performs at radio.

I’m not entirely sure this will do well on radio at all, like I think it will because it’s a lead single from Carrie, and this is far less abrasive than pretty much anything from CP single-wise, but it doesn’t exactly scream “smash”, imo at least. I love it, and the subject matter is definitely suited for radio, but the sound would stick out a bit, especially with country radio turning more traditional-sounding the last couple years with Wallen/Combs/Pearce/McBryde/Laney Wilson, etc. It’s just hard to get a good read on what will do well because it’s still pretty random. I mean, this could totally smash - it is of that quality for sure, but will it? Or will it perform similarly to CP’s singles? Anyway, I think this is a promising sign of another stellar album, hopefully we get some news tomorrow packaged with the single release!!

I for one ADORE this song already. Three listens and an earworm is already nestled right at home. I love these lyrics; Josh Kear never disappoints! The sound of country radio lately does pose valid caution about "Ghost Story" doing the greatest, but it's insanely catchy, she has a ton of momentum following the also-not-so-traditional-sounding #1 smash "If I Didn't Love You," and the production feels somehow suited for easy listening during the summer months. I honestly foresee another chart-topper, and this song has me HIGHLY anticipating the album.

Does anyone else hear SITW influences?
