I think it’s pretty clear at this point that team Carrie is all-in with GS. It might not have made the biggest splash, but GS is testing really well at radio, and seems to have a decent shot at the top. Carrie is the only female in the top 10, and sadly that’s probably a benefit in regards to its potential peak. I could be wrong, but I think they’ll see this through all the way to the top, and I think that’ll happen sometime in mid to late September.

Anyone else think that aside from Burn, She Don’t Know could be her biggest hit from this album?

Okay, so realistically ... Do you think we will ever get a Super Bowl Halftime Show? Not as a strictly-CU-headliner, no. I can absolutely see her doing it as a co-headline, like JLo/Shakira; Snoop/Eminem/Kendrick/MJB/Dre; etc. I agree with that, unfortunately.

I believe it is worth the "risk" to release it. I say risk because Carrie hasn't typically put out traditional country sounding singles. Honestly, IMHO it is an outlier on "Denim and Rhinestones." I've also heard many positives about it because is not her typical revenge song (which as a theme is probably her most popular). But it is, in many ways, more deadly because her revenge is indifference and moving on. I'm not sure any single she chooses is going to move the needle for the album, so I hope she ventures out a little. If she goes four deep (which with the time it takes a single to climb today makes that probability unlikely), "She Don't Know," "Velvet Heartbreak" and "Burn" would be my choices. But, as I've said before, I think "Crazy Angels" and "Pink Champagne" are two of Carrie's favorites and will probably get the releases.

No way we get 5 with how slow country radio is and Carrie’s history, which is fine. I can even see them stopping after 3 singles for this album. I’d go with VH or SDK next and let Burn smash next summer/early fall. I still think it will be her biggest solo hit single since Church Bells. If these 3 aren’t picked as singles, the only other song I’d be okay with them releasing is HMH. Unfortunately, I think CA is likely to take the place of VH or, more likely, SDK. I’m hoping Pink Champagne was more of a buzz song. I predict they’ll go CA next, followed by Burn, and then finish the era with VH/HMH/PC.

To collaborate with Kelly Clarkson on her next album will be a win-win for both. It is weird that they never collaborate on music so far, not to mention that when Kelly did country music.

Carrie has only had five collaborations across nine studio albums. Three were on special projects, and 1 was a bonus track that didn't seem like she recorded to be part of the album. That leaves the masterpiece “What Can I Say” as the only duet Carrie’s recorded for her albums. Just stating this to show it seems Carrie’s more likely to record duets when asked vs inviting others to sing with her. Carrie and Kelly will definitely record together some day, I'm sure. They both have to be aware that their fanbases want this. I hope they're just waiting for the right song - a big hit with soaring vocals. Eta - I forgot about ITYS, but even that wasn’t initially recorded as a duet.

Yeah it’s interesting because Carrie has had a lot of popular and/or award-winning duets, but all of them except one were for other people’s projects.

I hope you are right, but I'm not so sure Kelly and Carrie have an artistic connection to make them want to work together. They have the AI connection, but that's pretty much it. I could see Kelly doing something with Maren Morris, Ashley McBride or Kacey Musgraves, for example. Carrie seems more connected with an artist like Kelsea Ballerini. I also think Carrie and Miranda have another great duet in them. I'd also be interested in hearing her and Mickey Guyton put their voices together.

But I never thought we’d get Ludacris and John Legend duets before a Kelly one 😜 Carrie and Kelly have talked positively about each other on many occasions. I think the connection is there if they both want to, and the right song comes along. I'd be shocked if, by the end of their careers, they haven't recorded a duet.

I think they both respect each other and acknowledge the idol connection, but I’m not convinced Carrie likes Kelly very much. I hope I’m wrong.

Carrie is a pretty shy/ awkward person and Kelly is definitely the opposite. I don’t think CU would’ve went on her show if she didn’t like her.

It’s not a matter of “liking”, it’s a matter of personalities. Carrie on stage is not the same Carrie who sits down for interviews; she’s shy, awkward, and quirky. Kelly is the polar opposite, she can make herself look comfortable in any situation and she is a total extrovert. I think they respect each other, and there’s no reason to believe they don’t like each other, they’re just different.

If I had to talk to Kelly, I'd be awkward too since she just talks over everyone. Any remotely shy person would have a problem trying to talk to her.

I don't think it's a question of them not liking or respecting each other at all. I believe they do. They are just different artists. Not sure that connection is there. Plus, I honestly don't know how their voices would sound together. Maybe someday we'll get to find out.

I like Kelly but she's a shit interviewer. Her incessant talking over people is grating. On top of that it was just a lousy Q&A. Kelly asked some pretty inane questions ("is it true you never flew on a plan before?!") and generally seemed unprepared. There were so many really interesting directions that interview could have gone but it was a dud.

There were so many really interesting directions that interview could have gone but it was a dud. You also just described every late night interviewer! No kidding, right? Every single damn one. You know where I would have LOVED to have seen Carrie promote Denim and Rhinestones? Hot Ones. Sean Evans is an outstanding interviewer. He asks extremely well-researched, penetrating questions and really listens to his guests. And of course the conceit is brilliant. By the time Carrie hit Da Bomb her introvert's mask would've slipped (as it does with most of them) and her answers would have been something even her most dedicated stans wouldn't have heard before.

I love Kelly, but she drives me bonkers when I watch her show. She's always talking over everyone. She's a great host, except for that, it's definitely something she needs to work on for sure. All of that being said I think they are friendly with each other, not necessarily friends. I don't think they'll ever do anything together unless it's like a charity Idol single or something, but I don't think it has anything to do with them liking each other. Carrie is such an introvert, but I think she likes Kelly fine. There's a couple of videos of them in the background at the CMA's or ACMS, can't remember which, but Kelly was there with someone from the voice, they saw each other and are talking in the background where someone else is being interviewed. So they're definitely in the friendly category.

ITYS was ♥️♥️♥️
She sounds as perfect as the first time she performed it. Wouldn’t mind her bringing that back to the tour!

Kinda can’t get over how strong this album is. Took a break after consistent listening for the first couple weeks of its release, and just turned it back on again this afternoon and couldn’t help but feel totally pulled into each song. The title track is way too infectious, and the run of Faster/Pink Champagne/Wanted Woman/Poor Everybody Else has got to be one of strongest consecutive strings of songs on any record of hers. (The entire first chunk of Blown Away still holds the supreme title there.)
Such a bummer that this was the record that failed to translate into strong sales & streams with the public. Finish up with Ghost Story and release Pink Champagne yesterday, please!

All I’m gonna say is if they don’t release Burn as a single, it will go down in CU history along with “Do You Think About Me” and “End Up With You” as the biggest missed opportunities.
