I watched the video and it didn’t seem awkward, but wasn’t the best interview from either of them. Carrie’s never been the best interviewer as she truly is introverted and shy. It’s just who she is, and many people do perceive it as awkward (fair) or rude (unfair imo). It’s actually part of what makes her commanding stage presence so impressive to me. I think the fact that he asked some odd questions, it was early in the morning, and the fact that she couldn’t openly talk about the project yet all contributed to the “awkward” sounding interview.

I mean there were a few awkward moments. Carrie has always been more on the shy side when she isn’t on stage so that wasn’t any different.
My main thing is with Bobby. I feel like to interview good with him you need a very outgoing personality to match his (Kelsea Ballerini comes to mind.) That way you can match his energy.
I didn’t like the part about when he asked about the album release date. Honesty we all want to know, but after the first time about asking about it and she didn’t want to reveal anything yet, he should’ve stopped pushing and he didn’t. It’s not just Carrie though, I’m pretty sure I remember when he interviewed Taylor Swift when she was still country she didn’t have a pleasant experience.

I could be off and it could be a different interviewer, but don’t Bobby and Carrie have a weird interview moment from early on in her career? I think I recall him saying something that upset her.
ETA: No “Ghost Story” in her Vegas set list last night? Seems odd.

Honestly Ghost Story took me a couple days to get into but it's been on repeat ever since. I love it! Personally I think it's a better radio single than Smoke Break and Cry Pretty (loved both those songs though). Just really hoping it doesn't stall out on radio in the top 10.
I just know there's going to be bangers on this album so I'm excited! Bring on Denim & Rhinestones!!

Just got back from her incredible show, and all I can say is WOW! The production was out of this world - everything from the arrangements of the songs, to the lighting, the dancers, her choreography, the transitions etc. were so perfectly done. Most importantly, though, she sounded FLAWLESS on every single song. It's no secret that her catalog of songs is very very hard to sing and yet she knocked every single one of them out of the park. She is 100% a singular talent and an undeniable super star.
Something special happened tonight, too - her mom was at the concert, so she came and joined her at the end of AAG which was very heartwarming to see. 20/10 would DEFINITELY recommend.

Brown Way is better than Good Girl. Brown Way is definitely my favorite Curry Underwood song.

Carrie’s interview on Country Heat Weekly (Amazon) had some noteworthy comments:
Carrie said the “project” is being finished up - “putting the bow on it” - can’t remember the exact wording, but it’s done. She said “we’re ready” at the end of her answer to the question of album/project status.
She said we’ll see a lot of her writing, but I think we already knew that…
Ace is 16 (wow!!!).. and she thinks he’s blind and deaf. But “he’s still going”.
“Ghost Story” will only be added to the residency if it becomes a “bonafide hit”.
It was a great interview and she sounded very comfortable!

I gave myself over a week before I said anything about GS and I love it! It sounds like classic Carrie in the the best way. I feel like this chorus is such an ear worm!! It’s a good way to ease her back to country radio and it’s such an easy listen. I need this album like now!! I’m so intrigued!! What does “putting a bow on it” mean!?! Also she keeps saying project, which I know has made some people think double album…I’m hoping we get a performance at the GRAMMYs and/or CMT Awards. The cinematic feel of this song should lend itself to some really cool performances.

Hmm maybe it’ll be a double album…one will be the new release of course and the other will be a Vegas/live recordings album. I feel like it has to be something to tie in Vegas…maybe a DVD with the album?? Something though..especially if more dates are going to be added for Fall and next Spring

I’ve seen Carrie live and plan on seeing her whenever she goes back on the road but I doubt people want a live recording from her especially after this long break.

Also she/her team/her fans need to move beyond the practice of releasing DVDs. Y’all want to buy awards show performance compilations on VHS next?

I'm still pissed that I wasn't able to buy (or access) My Savior at the Ryman in 4K streaming. It's so boomery that she only released it on DVD. And age of her fanbase is not an excuse -- even my 93 year old grandfather streams.

I just remembered there was like a five month window between "Cry Pretty" and the album. I hope we don't have that long of a window again.

She was also in the early stages of pregnancy in the spring of 2018. I think the major reason for the gap was to make sure she got through the most sensitive period of her pregnancy before launching fully into an album cycle. Considering her history before Jacob, I think this theory makes a lot of sense.

I wonder if it's a record label thing though because I remember there being another artist on the same label who had a similar five month window between the first single and album release.

I'm not sure why'd she'd specifically say "fall" if it was coming soon in the spring. I hope that's not the case, as the wait between "Cry Pretty" and the album was a pain, though I realize it's becoming the standard.

Don’t be shy; perform your new single on the Grammy stage mama. Don’t want a gospel medley.

The vibe I’m getting is that she is going to do GS. If the first live performance of the era is on the Grammy stage, that’s pretty remarkable. If GS is meant to be a hit, we’ll know soon thereafter if it catches on or not.
Another possibility is a Vegas plug, in which case I’d hope for a SITW moment.
Or… a tribute, but announcing Carrie as a solo performer doesn’t really hint towards that, imo.
I’m so excited for this year’s Grammys and I’ve missed seeing Carrie on the stage. I can’t wait!!!

It may not be up to Carrie what she performs. The producers often have an idea of what they want, so they may have come to her with an idea/request.

Right, but everything mentioned is still within the realm of what the producers might want/approve. However, considering the probable rebuilding the show underwent due to postponement, I feel that artists might have a little more freedom than usual. Maybe not, but the last minute nature might change things… I also imagine there are certain artists who the producers trust to use their moment wisely for mutual benefit, and I have to believe Carrie is probably one of them.

Yeah, I think it’s a tribute performance. Maybe even paired with John Legend.
I’m just glad she’s there to collect her GRAMMYs.
