Things are about to take off in 2025 and it’s everything I’ve wanted for this milestone year.
She’s getting back on TV screens across the nation in a way that’s sure to create buzz when the time comes. She’s collaborating with today’s mainstream country singers to continue her legacy and add hits to her record. And I’m pretty sure we’re getting an album too! No specific proof of the last part, but it seems too opportunistic to not release something new for people to consume while she’s out reinvigorating her career.
2025 is going to be AWESOME! Thank you, Carrie!!!
One last wish, the ability to stream/purchase the CP360 and D&R Tours. I’ll take one, but I think CP360 is her best tour to date so I’d sorta prefer to see that again. However, I see no reason why we can’t get both. Maybe that’s greedy, but we know they were both taped so what gives?

Ugh this is getting me EXCITED. A smash duet, the queen VISIBLE on Idol, and hopefully goes into CU8 this spring with a fire under her.
She's got nothing to prove anymore, but I know she still has it in her to have at least one more career era.

A person named CountryMer11 found this and I thought I'd share here. This seems to confirm the Cody duet and music video
Ready for the CMT Awards voting!!!!

Anywho. I don’t feel like we talk about this line from “Dirty Laundry” enough.
“I can tell by the smell of that perfume it’s like 40 dollars too cheap.”
Like the utter burn. Quite literally the classiest way to say that he downgraded. Love that song.

Lol but the whole song is fire and I vastly prefer it to "Smoke Break", "Choctaw County Affair", or even "Church Bells" to be honest.

Agreed That era was very successful but I imagine if they went with for the double punch of "Dirty Laundry" for the lead, followed by "Church Bells" second, then that era would be looked at more iconicly like Blown Away was.

OMG yes!! It’s my favorite single of hers to date. Just a killer song. I wish it was the lead.

"Smoke Break" was the first...questionable...lead single choice of hers for me in hindsight. I don't see too many people talk about it these days. How do Carrie fans look at that song in retrospect?
"Dirty Laundry" and "Church Bells" would've been an absolute fantastic 1-2 punch to kickstart the era. I like "Heartbeat" and would rank it towards the top of the album personally, though I don't know that I would have picked it for a single over something like "Chaser" or even "Relapse" which are better songs IMO.
I know "Choctaw County Affair" is well-loved among Carrie fans, and admittedly it has grown on me a tiny bit in recent years, though I still don't think I could bring myself to pick it as a single over something like the aforementioned "Chaser" or "Relapse" or "Heartbeat" or even something like "Renegade Runaway" which is often slept on by Carrie fans IMO.
But what a stellar album. Career high for sure. The album is somewhat brought down by the back half for me. I don't find myself listening to anything past "Relapse" very often.

- Smoke Break was an okay single for me. I often watch this performance of SB: youtu.be/rue3RLJbdvI?si=7unMPaMQHBfCKInQ. I personally think that a more acoustic production would've fit better. - Also, we need an acoustic album from Carrie stat! - Dirty Laundry was solid. Even though I *liked* Church Bells, I just felt that it was too similar to Two Black Cadillacs for me to really get into if I'm being honest. With that said... - I loved CCA (still do!!!), and truly hoped that Carrie would have taken the risk of releasing it as a single. It's different, in a great way. I also think that Carrie really needed to release something so different. She also took the time to learn harmonica, and seemed to consume so much effort in this one song. So many late night thoughts, lol. 😅🤣😂

I enjoy “Smoke Break” but if it was going to be a single it should’ve been a 5th single to keep her name out there while she’s between eras, not one of the very important first two singles. If they were full stopping at 4 singles though it shouldn’t have been released.
I think Storyteller should’ve been
Dirty Laundry Church Bells Relapse Choctaw County Affair Heartbeat/Smoke Break
It is important to note that Carrie wanted Choctaw as a single as well, but Sony blocked it. Which was later told to a fan at a meet in greet a small reason for her label move.

It feels kind of more hopeful as a fan again. Carrie coming back for SNF. The duet coming to radio in the next month or so. Carrie hosting Idol. I've gotta imagine she puts out something music related right? Even if its just an anniversary edition of Some Hearts.

But what a stellar album. Career high for sure. The album is somewhat brought down by the back half for me. I don't find myself listening to anything past "Relapse" very often. "Smoke Break" was definitely questionable as a single. She looked amazing in the video. In retrospect I think its slightly above-average, teetering closer to average and I think that's why it was questionable. I remember Carrie was hyped about this being the first single, like it was the obvious chose, she's felt similarly I believe about Ghost Story and Love Wins as singles. So, hey! I do think "Smoke Break" makes for good festival performances. It comes off much better live and it was pretty light-hearted, literally like a break in the setlist, compared to her more bombastic and heavy songs. So it works, and its fun to sing-a-long to. I do agree that era would've been looked at much better if they went with a different first single, because every other release is some of Carrie's best work in my opinion. "Smoke Break" would've done well actually as a 5th single with a live performance video, in my opinion.

I've always had a soft spot for "Smoke Break." And, if I recall correctly, country critics considered it one of her best singles at the time. Perhaps it could have been a later single (who knows), but I've never questioned the quality of it.

She thinks she may have taken on too much? Yeah...okay. I don't buy that one bit lol. She can spend less time in the garden during Idol I guess.

Currently watching the Toby Keith tribute show on NBC…. Carrie was the first to perform. But when she was done, she went off to the side stage and did not leave. There have been NUMEROUS shots showing her singing along, having a grade ole time. Love to see it!

Feel like this year has been pretty loaded with album releases. That would give a lot more attention to Carrie if she decides to release one next year. Hopefully she does.

I tried signing up for CarrieFans years ago but never got the confirmation email. I even tried a different email to see if that would work but I didn't get anything. Someone told me to reach out to someone who is both a member here and the other site but never got a response. I've always loved seeing the conversation on there though, even if I could never participate lol.

Why is everyone hoping for a New Album next year? She probably Did the Deluxe to get more time until she releases. 2026 or even 2027 will be the year.
