Notable Gains:
#51. Tiesto and Ava Max - The Motto (+13) *new peak* This is one to watch. And I'm kind of surprised, given that it didn't even chart until a few weeks after it's release, but it's quietly creeping up the charts and could eventually become the next Sweet But Psycho. |

Half of the songs have all 3 components working for them in appreciable degrees, but only one lacks radio and only 3 lack streaming. Very interesting.

That has to be the first time since digital sales were included on Hot 100 that no song in top 5 is higher than #20 on Sales lol.

Sales tend to be front-loaded and there aren't many of them, which combine to make for a stale top part of the charts.

BBudding TikTok success story “Tom’s Diner,” a cover of the Suzanne Vega single by German acts AnnenMayKantereit and Giant Rooks, returns the song to the Billboard Hot 100 dated April 2, entering at No. 84.
The remake also vaults in at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Rock Digital Song Sales chart. In the March 18-24 tracking week, it soared by 1,046% to 4,400 downloads sold, according to Luminate, formerly MRC Data. The song also accrued 5.2 million official U.S. streams, up 25%.
Originally released in 2019, the new, blues-inflected interpretation of “Tom’s Diner” has drawn increased exposure on TikTok in recent weeks.
The song concurrently hits the top 10 of the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, jumping 11-8.
“Tom’s Diner” was originally recorded in a cappella form on Vega’s 1987 album Solitude Standing. It reached No. 5 on the Hot 100 in December 1990 thanks to a remix by DNA featuring Vega’s vocals.
The song (inspired by New York’s Tom’s Restaurant, whose exterior is famously seen in Seinfeld) has also been updated by, among others, Giorgio Moroder, whose version featuring Britney Spears hit Hot Dance/Electronic Songs in 2015, and Fall Out Boy, whose “Centuries” interpolates the original and hit No. 10 on the Hot 100 the same year.

It seems like Baby Yoda Hot100fan was the only one able to access the Chart Discussion thread through all of this. He was somehow able to post the recaps on the ARIA charts and UK Singles & Albums charts threads at the normal time. |
