33. mambo no 5 - I was never into this song. In 1999, there were quite a few major hits that felt more like novelty hits (or as part of a big trend) like this, Blue Da Ba Di, Livin' La Vida Loca, and probably others. I do get the appeal of this one and in the right setting, I'd enjoy it, but otherwise, nah.
32. rump shaker - this wasn't a 90s hit I grew up with but I like it. I generally like this type of 90s rap.

31. The Verve Pipe - The Freshmen
This song legit bored me to death. I probably would have liked it more if there was at least some kind of spark, but unfortunately no spark hit me.

I will reveal 30 to 26 around this time tomorrow then I will do the closeness before the top half.
3 of the 5 reveals tomorrow will be in the top 10 highest SDs.
We will lose the first song with 2 number 1 ranks. We will also lose another song with a 1 rank and 3 number 2 ranks. And this one will hurt the most, one of the songs revealed tomorrow, we will lose 12 top 10 ranks, with 6 of them being someones first top 10 loss, ouch.
You guys can try to predict what we will lose before the top half.

once my 4, 7, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 19 all go out in the next set. Only 3 of the 7 actually did, and my #50 actually went with them. My expectations with you guys in this rankdown were superseded.

35. This is a good spot for "Would I Lie To You?" This was a decent and enjoyable song but it wasn't a big favorite. But ughhh dang, I was a spot off from a perfect ranking again. Of course, lmao. 34. Oh wow, I'm surprised that "One of Us" recieved the 3rd highest standard deviation. I also thought this song would have been better recieved here too. I loved this and thought this was a great song from Joan Osborne. Something I remembered when I was younger and still really enjoy. 33. Omggg that clue for #33 had me worried I was going to lose my #1 as I had also just lost my #2. Ah phew, I'm glad it wasn't me.... but awww nooo, I still do really love "Mambo No. 5" as it's my #6, so I am still very sad to lose this song so early. :( This is really such a fun and entertaining song and one that brings a lot of fun memories for me, although I can understand how this would annoy people to earn such a high standard deviation. Sorry to annoymous1 for losing their Top 2. :( 32. Ugh gross, why am I losing so many Top 10s now all of a sudden? :'( I love "Rump Shaker" and think this is such a fun classic hip-hop/rap jam here! This is really such a fun jam and it's crazy to believe this was Pharrell's first produced hit. Also agree with 312999 that this should have been higher, for sure. 31. Impressive how this was the first song with 0 bottom 5 ranks. :o But ugh noo, I love "The Freshman" too and always thought this was such a gorgeous and beautiful song. I do wish "Rump Shaker" had beaten this though. But yeah this is one of those songs that I do find quite moving. Oof this was a rough set. The first reveal was fine but then I lost 4 of my Top 14 songs here, so eeek not too great. Hopefully more of my lower ranks get revealed rather than higher ranks, lol.

40. The Connells - '74-'75I was still way into hair and Glam in the 90's so most of these are first time listens. This one sounds pretty sacrificial among the rest. Not one once of excitement laces with a very drab chorus with a melody worthy of campfire sing a long , but not much more. was #74 or #75 it's peak on the charts. Sounds fitting. 39. Snow - InformerJust to Inform you all this would have been an easy one to land face down in my tank of travesties. 38. Fools Garden - Lemon TreeThis was kinda interesting. I could hear some early Panic! At The Disco in the composition. Needed some epic Brendon Uri screaming for me to give it top 10, but I do like it for 30's range. 37. Los Del Rio - MacarenaThis should have drowned in Del Rio. 'Nuff siad. 36. The Tony Rich Project - Nobody KnowsPretty decent for an R&B pop jam. Could have been 90's New Edition. I like it. 35. Charlies & Eddie - Would I Lie To YouI like the retro Motown feel this had. Reminds me of 90's Go West ,Hall & Oates, and maybe even Dino after he decided to dump Freestyle and go Pop. I would have probably ranked it in my 20's. 34. Joan Osborne - One Of Usha! at one point I had this on my personal charts. Sandwiched between Bon Jovi and Aerosmith. true Story. Really great guitar works. I like the lyrics. easy to rememeber and flow easy off the tounge. The melody reminds me of one of my favorite Sheryl Crow songs. easy top 15 for me on this list of songs 33. Lou Bega - Mambo No. 5Now this is a funbomb. There were some of those 90's sound effix that hurt my eras, but the ladies names shout outs more than made up for those unfortunate ear sores. The music video helped a lot too. 32. Wreck N Effect - Rump ShakerYou wanna like the song, because the MV is juicy as hell, and it's about butts, but the music is pure ear sore to me. I could sit through on MTV, but never on the radio. Clear bottom 10 for me. 31. The Verve Pipe - The FreshmenWhen 90's really starting sounding better to me. These bands brought on The Call , Stroke 9, and Creed and maybe other favorites. I had a cassette single of this one. Remeber those? This would have gotton top 10 from me. which means I'd be losing a crown song with this reveal.

30 to 26 will be revealed in about 30 minutes. You guys don't want to miss todays reveals, there might be some surprises out and some surprise songs making the top half. I mentioned on last preview that 3 top 10 high SDs will go out today. That is the case for 30, as it is the 7th highest standard deviation, and it is the first song that has 2 number 1 losses. One of the number 1 losses has lost their 2 already so they will lose their top 2 with this loss. We also lose a 50 rank and 2 49s. What song could this be? find out shortly. nathanalbright , beyoncelover , singingrulebritannia , ccarter1023 , CF15 , gardyfan , janinho , weaver , rowellfarm490 , emerald , khan , 312999 , ilikemilk , OCDave , aerodynamite , Devil Marlena Nylund , BBπ , American Idiot , castleoblivion26 , Gonza'90 , Willow Rinadoobee Breakfast , Soulsista , Cody Wants Out... , gonecountry , alexcuse , bigd79 , Az Paynter , Mirago , annoymous1 , wheatsquares33 , π

Two #1's for "Breakfast at Tiffany's"? I wouldn't have expected that.

Two #1's for "Breakfast at Tiffany's"? I wouldn't have expected that. When you assumed it was indeed 100 percent that song and with confidence too lmfao. 30. 4 Non Blondes - What's UpFinally, I think that this song is overrated and nothing special, sorry for all the high rankers including the 2 number 1 ranks. Juanca loses his top 2 now. I don't really like the vocals and the style, but I knew it was a high standard deviation song. Glad that it missed the top half though.

Only one off. :( This has worn off, slightly. I didn't expect it to finish so low, though.

Uh oh... and now we have the 9th highest standard deviation at 29. 1 number 1 rank, 3 number 2 ranks, another additional top 5 rank. Which song is this?

29. Meredith Brooks - Bitch
Another song I am happy that missed the top half. Chorus is a little catchy and annoying at the same time. Unfortunately I found it leaning more towards the annoying side. Sorry again to the high rankers.

Song number 28 used to have one of the lowest standard deviations surprisingly when I started it, its still a low SD but missed the top 10 lowest. I thought that it would be a high SD. Only 4 people lose a bottom 10, I think that is the least bottom 10s lost so far on a song.

28. Tag Team - Whoomp! (There It Is)
Wow, this is such a fun dance jam that I just have to love. Energetic, happy vibes, what is there not to love about this? I mean I can get why people find it annoying too. I'm just glad it almost made the top half, and I believe it was top half on some movements too.

Alright everyone, who is ready for possibly a reveal not many people will expect at number 27. 5th highest Standard Deviation (IMO this is a surprise its a high SD), this song was highest SD for almost 10 lists for when I calculated it near start and I was like how long will this last cause I didn't see it finishing with the highest SD, but it did finish with a high SD regardless. 12 top 10 ranks will go out. (No 1s) 10 bottom 10 ranks will go out. (No 50s) Remember when I said that only 1 person will make it to the top half without losing a top 10? Well.... There are currently 7 people who have not lost a top 10 yet - weaver, emerald, aerodynamite, BBπ, Gonza'90, Willow Rinadoobee Breakfast, and Mr. Thonk Eyes. 6, yes, I repeat, 6 of them, will lose their 1st top 10 with the reveal of 27, wow. So this will be a surprise to them. Only 1 of them will make it to the top half with their top 10 still in play, as they will not lose their top 10 at 26. What is this surprise shocking song? Whoever of those 7 that has not lost a top 10 yet, better watch out.

Wild guess: "A Girl Like You". How the hell from all the guesses, you get this one correct???????????? 27. Edwyn Collins - A Girl Like YouCan someone explain how the hell does this song have a high SD and why it missed the top half???? I thought it would have a low SD with more middle ranks and would be top 20 barely. Kind of surprised to see it very polarizing. But regardless, I love this song so much, the unique style, his voice, flow, everything is great. I must say, I never heard a song like this before, lmfao. weaver is the person that will have his entire top 10 in the top half.

The last song to miss the top half has a 1, 2, and a 3 rank. Only 3 bottom 10 ranks, one of them a 49.

26. Marc Cohn - Walking In MemphisThis is a really nice song. I like the feel for it. I believe that this song was unfortunately caught in between years on the Hot 100, as it peaked at 13. Poor nathanalbright loses his 1, and he has also lost his 2, 3, and 4, ouch. This song has also been covered by Cher and Lonestar.

What is the biggest surprise in the top half? What is the biggest surprise not in the top half? The 2 highest standard deviations are still in. What do you think they are?
More stats including closeness will be coming later today. :)

30. 4 Non Blondes - What's Up What's Up with this becoming as popular as it did? 'nuff siad.
29. Meredith Brooks - Bitch Nothing particularly wrong with this song. Nice guitar strums, and vocals , but that's about it. It would have sounded a lot better without that annoying Sugar Ray like percussion.
28. Tag Team - Whoomp! (There It Is) You would think I would hate this, but I actually kinda like it. I think the fact they borrowed from Kano's classic "I'm Ready" has a lot to do with it. Surely top half for me.
27. Edwyn Collins - A Girl Like You Decent song with nice retro sound that gets ruined by cheesy effix. WTF were those robot sounds trying to prove. The fuzz guitar was my favorite aspect.
26. Marc Cohn - Walking In Memphis This would be in my bottom 10. Always hated it. Sounds like something they might use in a 90's sitcom intro. Also reminds me of what once greats like Bruce Springsteen and John Mellencamp were reduced to sounding like after guitars lost their popularity on the pop charts. Did I mention It drains the life out of me.
top 25.
Nice to know we are still pissing the night away. I hope my would be #1 song rides HIGH.

30. Oh wow, I'm kinda surprised that "What's Up" has the 7th highest standard deviation. I thought this song was mostly and fairly loved amongst people and I was expecting this to make it so much higher. It's a cool song and I do really enjoy it but feel others love it more than me. Oh wow I ranked this at #25, so right in the middle. 29. Ooh I'm kinda surprised that I only ranked "Bitch" at #17. I thought I would have ranked it higher. But this is a really cool, fun song and I do really like this. I guess I am not too surprised seeing this with the 9th highest standard but I did think this would have made the top half. 28. Oh wow, my #17 and #18 are back to back here, hahaha. "Whoomp! (There It Is)" is really such a fun and infectious song. Also kinda surprised I didn't rank this higher but I guess I was into more songs than I realized. This is so fun but I guess it made it to where I would have expected. I would have loved seeing this make it to the top half though. It's also cool that this only had 4 Bottom 4 ranks and just one Bottom 5 rank. 27. Oooof, all of those previews regarding #27 reallly scared and had me worried here. Danggg it's crazy seeing that the same song has 12 Top 10 and 10 Bottom 10 rankings - talk about polarizing. And wow at how 6 out of 7 people lost their first Top 10 too. LMAOOO it's so insane how CF15 guessed "A Girl Like You" before it got posted. HOW DOES HE DO IT? And oooo, it's "A Girl Like You"..... okay I'm glad the polarizing/shocking ranking is this song. It's not a song I am too familiar with nor really care for. I forgot all about this being on the list - so yeah I am one of the ones happy that this showed up. It does kinda have a cool and fun sound to it so I get why people like it but still not one of my favorites. Congrats to weaver having all of his Top 10 in the Top 25. :o 26. "Walking In Memphis" is okay but not a song that I really care that much for. Well done to it making it to 26th here. But hmm me placing this at 38th seems a bit high as I thought I would have ranked it lower. Overall, definitely much better reveals with more of my lower ranks coming in (and none from my Top 15), so yayy!

I'm curious to see what I got left of this Top 25. I got the following left:
1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10 11, 15, 16, 19 21, 22, 23, 24, 26, 27, 28 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 37 41
Ahhh these are mostly good stats. Got 7 songs each of songs in my Top 10 and in the 20s. And almostt cleared out my Bottom 10. Just got that one #41 left, which hopefully goes out soon lol.

1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24, 25, 30, 33, 34, 37, 38, 39
So my average rank remaining is 18.4. That's not bad. I'm doing better than I expected. Though I still think my high ranks will be knocked out in the next set of 5, lol. At least I find every remaining song to be decent or better.
