Her haters, what is this you speak of? I definitely like many Martina McBride songs, but not that one. I don't hate the song at all. just a very strong year. I had both of these as an 8/10 on my list, but to be on my top ten it would have had to be a 9/10, and only the bottom 5 were lower than an 8/10 for me and even those were a 7/10. This list was stacked.

Her haters, what is this you speak of? I definitely like many Martina McBride songs, but not that one. She is an artist who very predictably will have 2-3 tankers with every single song. I don't think anyone hates her specifically, it's moreso that not everyone is a fan of belting, so a big-voiced artist like her tends to be a little more polarizing than somebody like Miranda Lambert for example. A lot of my outbursts are just bluster, because honestly the same thing happens to other big-voiced ladies too, and possibly even worse! 😂 Like, I'd say Martina usually does quite a bit better on average than Faith Hill, for example. (Even though ironically Faith is still in this rankdown!)

Stats for #7:
Our next song is the first to bow out and remained inside the top 15 for its entire run. It also just happens to be one of our early runner-up contenders as well. Six participants overall lose a top 10 with THREE of those being #2 rankings.

I can understand that; I have mixed feelings about belting myself.

"No One Needs to Know" was released in May 1996 as the sixth single from Shania Twain's sophomore album The Woman in Me and became her third consecutive number-one hit on country radio, and fourth overall. This was pretty much a solid top 10 contender for the entire rankdown where it even briefly flirted with the top 3 as well as being one of the songs to take the runners-up position. From there it mostly hovered just outside of the top 5 where it would remain for the last half. Only three participants overall placed this outside of their top 50 with one of those happening to come in as a bottom 30 from castleoblivion26. The majority would all place this somewhere within their top 30 with six of those being top 10s. That happened to include a trio of #2 all from toomuchboy, Cody Wants Out..., and someguy.

"She Never Lets It Go To Her Heart" is another one that I remember on the radio from when I was a toddler. As much as I have enjoyed Tim's entire career, I find myself being most partial to this sound from the All I Want era Imo the production from this era matches his voice perfectly, making this sound like the era where he really came into his own as an artist. I still consider this one, "I Like It, I Love It", "Maybe We Can Sleep On It", etc. to be among my favorites of his entire career. So glad to see SNLIGTHH in the top 10, as it is very much deserved imo!!! "No One Needs To Know"...I do like this one, but I kinda wish "If You're Not In It For Love" had been Shania's highest song. I can't help but feel that certain Shania songs have aged better than others, and for some reason this one just hasn't aged as well for me as some of her other stuff has. I think it might be because she is a pretty campy artist, and that aspect of her artistry really jumps out when the songs are stripped down and more acoustic-driven like this one is.

I'm not sure if y'all are seeing just how tight the race was for songs inside the top 10, but only THREE points separated George's "Carried Away" from Shania's "No One Needs to Know". Let's take a quick look at the breakdown:
7. No One Needs to Know - 457 8. She Never Lets It Go To Her Heart - 458 9. Wild Angels - 459 10. Carried Away - 460
That same trend continues as we get ready to enter the top 5 as only two points separate songs #5 and #6.

Here are the Top 6!
Blue Clear Sky Heads Carolina, Tails California It Matters to Me Strawberry Wine The Fear of Being Alone You Can Feel Bad Hopefully George isn't about to be exorcised because of his gender... He absolutely deserves a spot in this top 5!!! As does everything that is left, but he has the disadvantage of being male... In a perfect world I'd get rid of Deana over any of the rest of these, but I see no way that she is not one of the #1 contenders.

WOWWWWW!!!!! I figured Patty would be a shoe-in for the top 5, and even stand a good chance of competing for the top 2, considering the way that "You Can Feel Bad" has absolutely dominated every single rankdown it has ever been part of!!! Never underestimate the unpredictability of what may happen when you have nothing but insanely strong songs left That "you can feel bad if it makes you feel better" hook is pure money. I had never heard it before we did Patty's singles rankdown a few years ago, and it became an INSTANT favorite. She is the perfect artist to deliver this song too, as I feel like the melody complements her voice perfectly.

"You Can Feel Bad" was released in December 1995 as the first single from Patty Loveless' album The Trouble with the Truth and became her fourth number one hit on the country charts where it remained for two consecutive weeks. Despite starting off inside the top 5, this jolted all the way to the back of a top 40 when a lone bottom 20 from nathanalbright came along. Just like that, however, it quickly rebounded back into the top 20 and even matched its initial position just inside the top 5. Its second lowest ranking from Cody Wants Out... would come in just as we were entering the last half which actually pushed this back out of the top 10. From there it hovered just in and out of the top 5 where it would miss that mark by only a mere two points. Eight participants in all ranked this in their top 5 which makes it a shame it couldn't have landed inside there in the end.

You know, now that she has made the top 5, I am going to go ahead and give Faith a dark-horse shot of winning this thing! I'll go ahead and stick to my guns about George winning, but Faith may just have enough gas left in the tank to do some damage to the other songs...
I'd LOVE to see Reba win too, tbh. "The Fear Of Being Alone" and "Blue Clear Sky" are like my favorite song from each of them respectively, which is pretty insane that they were both out at about the same time considering how long and strong their careers have been!
5. Heads Carolina, Tails California 4. The Fear Of Being Alone 3. Strawberry Wine 2. It Matters To Me 1. Blue Clear Sky

5. "It Matters To Me" 4. "Blue Clear Sky" 3. "The Fear of Being Alone" 2. "Heads Carolina, Tails California" 1. "Strawberry Wine"
I feel as though #1 should be between Jo Dee and Deana and only those 2 at this point, I do think George is the dark horse here as I just do not see Reba or Faith winning. That said I'd be happy with any of the 5 winning, am rooting for Deana and Jo Dee the most though.

Stats for #5:
The first song to bow out of the top 5 is also the first song to exit that was one of our #1 contenders. This remained inside the top 10 for the entire rankdown and picked up eight top 5 rankings overall. Not one, not two, but THREE participants lose their #1 song.
