"4 to 1 in Atlanta" was released in May 1996 as the fourth and final single from Tracy Byrd's 1995 album Love Lessons. The song reached No. 21 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. While this managed to make an early appearance in the top half, that would be short-lived as it would eventually settle back down into the bottom 20 where it would remain for the last half of its run. Unfortunately for LBTrocks, he loses his second top 20 with both gardyfan and .indulgecountry losing a top 35. Three other participants lose a top half while four others shed a bottom 10.

"That's Enough of That" was released in August 1996 as the first single and title track from Mila Mason's debut album That's Enough of That. The song reached #18 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. Mila in turn becomes the first female artist to lose a song in the rankdown as all others prior to this were by her male counterparts. As for the tie-breaker, it didn't matter much considering that LBTrocks would've been the deciding factor either way as he ranked both of these in or just outside of his top 20. In the end, I opted to go with the song that was the least polarizing of the two. That said, this pretty much rode out its run down inside the bottom 20 and even briefly made a bottom 5 appearance late in the last quarter. Only two other participants lose a top half with .indulgecountry losing a near top 30. Two more ranked this down inside their bottom 10 with austin shedding a bottom 5.

'That's Enough of That' I just always felt was so stupid. I probably would have liked it more if another female who was hot at this time sang it (maybe Mindy McCready?) but I just thought this sounded so cheesy and it didn't age well at all.
No surprises for me, 'Then you Can Tell Me Goodbye' is one of the Neal McCoy songs I enjoy, so its a little low for me, but not shocked.

Okay, this is getting a lot more bumpier than I thought it would be... "It's Midnight Cinderella" and "4 to 1 in Atlanta" are guilty pleasures for me, I guess? Hurts to see Alabama out already; thought "The Maker Said Take Her" would at least dodge the bottom 20, but I suppose lack of enthusiasm did it in for them. "That's Enough of That" was the other potential rediscovery for me and I'm pretty stunned to see it out already; I thought it would at least make it to the 70s. I get the message conveyed in "The Change", but it felt like more of a drag for me. "Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye", "Goodnight Sweetheart", and "Worlds Apart" are kinda snoozers for me. Vince Gill might be one of the next to lose all of his songs, which is quite disappointing since I like him more often than not. Neal McCoy's other song "You Gotta Love That" should be able to make it outside the top half, if not just in the top half. "A Woman's Touch" and "It's All in Your Head" were surprising singles choices imo and I'm more perplexed that the former was almost a top five hit. Hopefully, we won't see either Toby Keith or Diamond Rio again until maybe the 70s or 60s? Oh, forgot to mention that I loved everything on my list up until my 90s or so; at that point, we get to songs I only like or just find decent.

Nothing terribly surprising in that set. I've always quite liked "The Maker Said Take Her", but given Pulse's lack of enthusiasm for Alabama, I can't be surprised it's out early. The Mila Mason song was one of the few on this list I didn't remember, and while the melody grew on me somewhat, it just sounded very dated and unmemorable. Glad the Garth Brooks purge has ended, his two remaining songs are both excellent, so hopefully they stick around a while longer.

I was hoping to post the full-length video for Chris Ledoux's "Five Dollar Fine", but unfortunately it is only available on Facebook and not YouTube. The reason likely is because Garth Brooks is featured in it which is why I remember it so much from the days of CMT. Anyways, here is a link for anyone interested in taking a trip down memory lane: fb.watch/e7mNme2Btb/On a side note, I still jam out to ”Cherokee Boogie” to this very day! I hope I'm not the only one who remembers/likes that song .

"It's All In Your Head" is one of my favorite Diamond Rio songs so to see it out this early is frustrating... While it was quite an odd single choice, I still enjoy it to this day! It was just rather hard to rank amongst so many other great songs from the year. Also, I'm almost a bit ashamed to admit that I had no idea up until today that it was written by the members of BlackHawk

Good Saturday morning, y'all! I hope everyone has a great weekend. We're about to dive into the bottom 30, so here are a few things you can expect to see as we do: - Three participants will lose a top 10 which includes someone's runner-up
- A handful of participants will continue to shed bottom 5s
- The second most polarizing song will be revealed
- Now that the dam has been opened, additional female artists began to appear as more songs are revealed
- Speaking of, one of those songs was a contender for last place

"Out with a Bang" was released in November 1995 as the fifth and final single and title track from David Lee Murphy's debut album Out with a Bang. The song was a Top 15 hit for him in early 1996. While this did briefly dip back into the bottom 5, for the most part this had a rather consistent run as the majority of the group placed placed this somewhere at or near their top 80. It did pick up a lone top 30 from LBTrocks as well as a few additional rankings in the top half. It also managed to pick up a pair of bottom 5s from ccarter1023 and toomuchboy.

"Heaven in My Woman's Eyes" was released in January 1996 as the third single from Tracy Byrd's album Love Lessons and was Top 15 hit for him in early spring. This is our first song to exit that was an early top 30 contender as it picked up two of its highest rankings. That included a near top 25 from gardyfan as well as a top 40 from nathanalbright. That would be brief, however, as would eventually dip back into the bottom 20 in the middle of its run. Two additional top half rankings would eventually bump this up enough to even move this out of the bottom 30 altogether. It continued to settle back some, though, in the last quarter before coming to a rest at one of its lowest positions. Three participants placed this down inside their bottom 10 which included a lone bottom 5 from castleoblivion26.

"Whole Lotta Gone" was released in June 1996 as the third single from the late Joe Diffie's album Life's So Funny. The song went on to become a Top 25 hit for him later that summer. Thanks to yours truly, this started off at its highest position of the rankdown before it would eventually settle back into the bottom 20 during the first half of its run. A lone top 25 from 🌺CountryLineDancer came in the last quarter, however, which allowed this to create a bit of a distance from that group of songs and would then come to a rest inside the bottom 20. "More Than You'll Ever Know" was released in July 1996 as the lead-off single from Travis Tritt's album The Restless Kind and was a Top 3 hit for him in late summer. Yet again this started off at its highest position of the rankdown thanks to yours truly as I ranked this just outside of my top 30. While it quickly dipped back from that position, it still rode out the first half of its run outside of the bottom 30. That would change late in the last quarter as the last few lists came in. "By My Side" was released in April 1996 as the first single from Lorrie Morgan's album Greater Need and was a Top 20 hit for both her and Jon Randall later that spring. This would start off at its lowest point of the rankdown early on where it found itself down inside the bottom 10. Things picked up, though, as more lists and support along along which included a top 10 from toomuchboy that brought this up to its highest position. It again would settle back, though, as two of its lowest rankings came along including a lone bottom 5 from CoJoFan and a bottom 10 from Cody Wants Out.... Rankings for this were peppered out across the board with four others placing it within their top half.

I sort of a get it with Travis Tritt. I must have weird taste in country male singers versus Pulse, since y'all hate so many of them I like (Mark Wills, Bryan White, Rascal Flatts, Dan + Shay, etc.). But "By My Side" in the *90's*, what...
