If I had to bet, Lizzo has way more of a chance to land another hit than Meghan. Meghan got stale and out of fashion way faster and has been out of the spotlight for way longer. Her sound is not popular anymore and she hasn't evolved beyond it.

But If I had to bet, tbh, the safest bet would be that neither has another major hit on the way. "About Damn Time" can grow, sure, but how many times does that happen outside of already succesful projects like "Ghost" and "Woman" or Arcane. It's far easier for unstablished acts like Glass Animals. For Lizzo it could be that people just don't care for the song (or, even worse, her).

Being ready by tomorrow night is a pretty big ask, and is it really worth losing out on an entire month of hype building and marketing because of a leak? I mean it might be worth it to avoid Kendrick's second week numbers but 😭

It's nothing new for albums to leak, it used to happen all the time, especially for those that were completed and whose release dates were announced way beforehand. There's only so much that "label security" can do, but this is why we are seeing times between album announcements and release dates drastically reduced, many of them often with no warning at all.

It might take a good deal of last-minute scrambling and inconvenience if they were to release Friday or very soon, and they might miss out on some hype-building and marketing, however the amount of revenue they would lose if they were to stick to the original release date might not be worth it, and sometimes an excessive amount of hype and promo isn't needed for albums to do well (hence the shortened announcement windows). Plus, Harry has already had some hype and marketing since the announcement a couple weeks ago, the #1 debut of As It Was hype in itself.

Vinyls that will do like 50K? If an album is leaked and being mass listened to illegally for a month that could add up very well to over 50K streaming units and pure sales lost. A month is more excessive than a week or two.

Lil Nas has no fanbase; nobody was rushing to hear his album. An artist who is singles-driven artist with a small fanbase would ofcourse be impacted way less than a heavy fanbase artist who has fans that are rushing to hear it immediately.
