This next artist has appeared before in Lost Hits though they've never performed this poorly until now. Both posters who ranked this song top 10 have already lost another top 10 ranking earlier tonight. Unfortunately this song hit a rough patch near the end of submissions and finished at its worst position despite spending the majority of its movements in the 20s.

It's crazy how many huge sample sources this list had. "Very Special" being the basis for Jennifer Lopez's "All I Have", "Watching You" used for the chorus of Snoop Dogg's "Gin And Juice"...and that's just from 10 songs, we still have 40 to go. "Yearning for Your Love"? turned into Nas's "Life's a Bitch". "Walking into Sunshine"? flipped for Organized Konfusion's "Walk Into The Sun". And we're still not done yet. I'll bring up the last one when it's revealed.

#39. Psychobabble - The Alan Parsons ProjectEven when they release a more radio friendly legnth song they are still kind of a task to get through. Sounds like a weaker Peter Gabriel song. I gave this a #29, but i think I overranked this? Either that or I meant to slot it lower. #38. The Kid Is Hot Tonite - LoverboyProbably the biggest Loverboy fan of PULSE.This band excelled in songs with the word "Hot" in them. I feel this song is the theme for every young male Rock star back in the 80's. Prpobably boosted up their ego to 100. I know it is one of my favorites on the list ,because it one of my top 40 songs of that year. #37. Yearning for Your Love - The Gap BandI'll be the first to say I don't think ballads worked for this band. I rememeber these guys for fiercer R&B funk like "You Dropped A Bomb On Me" and Early In The Morning". Shalamar and The Commodors maybe could get away with this, but not this band. #36. Why - Carly SimonThis was a nice rediscovery. Sounded more 1986 than 1982. The Reagge style really fit the song's atmosphere. I don't usually like songs that get stuck in the same melody, but this one had that sawying effect that spells out 80's love song. Carly looks great, but the music video sucks. #35. State of Independence - Donna SummerMan I hated this song. Sounds like something you might hear if you were passing the dutchie. No thanks. Also the Reagge style failed miserably. I'm glad she eventually ventured into High Energy music style thanks to SAW. #34. Stop Your Sobbing - PretendersNot one of my favs from this band. It didn't even make my top 20. #33. Secret Journey - The Police You know for a song with the word "journey" in it it reallydoesn't go anywhere. It isn't terrible, it feels like the left out material of the much better "Driven To Tears" #32. My Kinda Lover - Billy SquierNot a good night for Guitar Rock, but really when is it on these Rds? This song's strength is in the chorus. Billy's delivery and how he stretches out the line "My Kinda Lovaaaaaaa"! into that never ending fade out is definitely the high point of the song. easy Top 10 for me. #31. Walking Into Sunshine - Central LineThis could have easily been submitted my a ton of other 80's R&B funk bands....and made it sound better too.

Despite some early struggles, this song was able to finish strong with its final movement being the only one in which it was actually in the top half. 2 people will be getting a perfect ranking here.

Up next is a song that took an opposite trajectory to that of "Soup for One" with it finishing at its worst rankdown position. In fact, midway through this song was contending for a spot in the top 10 until some low rankings sealed its fate. Another perfecto will be handed out here. This artist is making their first Lost Hits appearance.
Best rankdown position: 9 Worst rankdown position: 24 Average position: 16.9 SD rank: 19th highest Ranking distribution: Top 10s: 3 11 to 20s: 2 21 to 30s: 4 31 to 40s: 3 Bottom 10s: 2
