Damn that remix is great. I hope it makes more people check out Kaytranada, since in my opinion he's easily the best producer right now. Hopefully he's involved in the production of the next album, he just fits really well with The Weeknd's sound

It’s not going to be enough to move the needle. Abel needed 4 more versions and at least one of them with LNX on it. Oh, and did Abel ship out the Dawn FM vinyls?

If Justin drops a new single soon before Stay falls off the Top 10, he’d probably break the Katy Perry consecutive Top 10 weeks record. This would be the 58th week, so another Peaches sized hit would do the trick. (By the time Stay falls off, Justin will need less than 10 weeks.)

Yeah just no. Dawn FM had the second highest debut this calendar year behind the album that blocked it from #1, and it would have debuted at #1 had it been released on any other week this year. Aside from that, it is the longest running #1 album globally on Apple Music of the 2020s and it's a contender for the most acclaimed album of the year so far, with many critics calling it Abel's best.

While we can discuss the performance of the singles - Take My Breath was an underperformance, but it did okay overall, Sacrifice was a flop and there's little discussion here, and it is too early to discuss Out Of Time's performance in my opinion, since post-album singles generally take a month or two to pick up if they aren't already actively smashing before the push - calling the album a flop just doesn't make sense. I think that it not going to #1 (at least so far) really skews the picture, when, aside from that, its performance has been solid.

The thread also focuses partly on potential smashes - so there's no reason not to discuss songs that aren't charting. There's discussion about the Laroi single which isn't charting, or about Pusha T's album, and he's an artist who rarely charts, so in general I just don't get this argument, and it appears pretty cyclically. I remember this happening back with Camila's singles. Obviously, they weren't charting at that point, but they could've, and that's as important.

Tomorrow Me (Luke Combs) is #1 on iTunes and #33 on Apple Music.
Plan B (Megan Thee Stallion) is #3 on iTunes and #7 on Apple Music.

Jason Aldean's new album is top 10 on Apple Music. It's doing a bit better than I thought considering the single is not really a big hit.

However, Zach Bryan's album is already charting at #12 with only 4 songs available for streaming. Probably notable SEA units at release week.

People just expect another BL or SYT to happen which is just unlikely at this point. Unless he does a collab with artists like Drake, JB, Rihanna, or Ari (again) for a guaranteed #1, i don’t think he’ll be able to get a huge hit for this era and that’s ok. We do have “flop” eras at times, whatever that means on this page. I can see him definitely pulling a Gaga and continue to pull big hits after (this is probably his Artpop era).


Also i wonder if people would move on from SYT if Ariana makes a comeback with her own music this time. This is still the most current hit that she has been on and maybe we could finally see it die down once and for all when she drops.

I guess the GP like the “Stay” sound more from him. If we’re expecting him to do As It Was/First Class numbers, that just sets us up for ultimate failure. We really just have to check the first day/week numbers and let that speak for itself.
