This week's questions (Deadline Thursday, July 21)
Q1: Beyonce Beyonce is back, and has an album coming in a couple weeks. Her lead single has a #7 peak right now - although that may still change with the video on its way. Since it seems like she's going for a more commercial/radio-friendly sound this time, we have to ask - how big will this album be? Does she have another #1 in her? Will Beyonce get a #1 hit this year? (By 12/31 chart)
Q2: Second Hit Sweepstakes A few new artists have seen their first big chart success recently: 1 - Latto: Big Energy (#3 Peak) 2 - GAYLE: abcdefu (#3 Peak) 3 - Joji: Glimpse of Us (#8 Peak) 4 - Dove Cameron: Boyfriend (#16 Peak) 5 - Em Beihold: Numb Little Bug (#18 Peak) Will any of them be able to follow up with a big second hit? Which of these 5 artists (Latto, GAYLE, Joji, Dove Cameron, Em Beihold) will have the highest-peaking "second hit" by the end of the year (12/31 chart)* *Just to be clear: this question's not asking about Big Energy, Glimpse of Us, etc...it's asking about any other/new songs by the respective artists.
Q3: One Hit Wonders - JUST FOR FUN No points here, this is just for fun. Naturally, some of the artists who had a breakout hit this year will end up as one-hit wonders. But which ones? Which of the 5 artists from Q2 (Latto, GAYLE, Joji, Dove Cameron, Em Beihold) is LEAST likely to see any future chart success?

1) No 2) Latto (probably as a feature credit) 3) Em Beihold (which makes me sad)

1. If radio continues to grow and the album bomb is strong enough, then yeah i can see it going to #1
2. Joji might be the one who gets a second hit out of all or Latto if sheโs lucky. Dove maybe can if her fanbase/radio gets on board but thatโs probably 50/50.
3. I donโt see Gayle having a second hit at all, as it wouldโve been done already when ABCDEFU was hot. Em is a runner up imo, she might also be a one time thing as well, but i could always be wrong.

1. Yes 2. Latto by default 3. I think all of these guys are gonna have a tough time getting another hit but if I had to pick the one least likely, it's Gayle.

1. No- I think BMS has a chance at top 3 but not sure about #1. 2. Joji- It's a tossup between Joji and Latto for me. I see Latto getting more charting songs but I'm not sure about HITS, whereas I think Joji can 3. Em Beihold- Sadly I think she's least likely to have another hit. Most to Least Likely imo: Joji > Latto >>>>>>> Dove Cameron >>>> Gayle >> Em Beihold

1.No 2. It depends. if we're speaking of lead credits then Joji - he could have a minor album bomb and a second minor hit, since I doubt that Latto will have much more in terms of lead credits this year. If we count feats then I could see her outpeaking him on someone else's song. 3. I mean Joji and Latto will probably have decent careers (even though I doubt that either of them will become that major artists). Dove Cameron could have some charting songs too, but I really doubt that either Gayle or Em Beihold will do anything more. Em's sound is more appealing imo however, so I think that ayle will fare the worst.

1. No - It woulda happened with BMS if it was gonna happen. I can see her getting another top ten hit this year easily, but it looks like the window for her big #1 debut has passed, and that's probably the only way she'd get the #1. But hey maybe radio will go absolutely crazy.
2. Latto - I can see Joji and maybe Dove Cameron getting followup hits eventually that reach their current levels, but I doubt it happens for at least another year. It'd have to be some fluke TikTok thing again. With radio seemingly on her side, I'm giving it to Latto by default.
3. Gayle - Dude I already forgot ABCDEFU. Beihold might at least get another AC radio hit or something. Gayle is just gonna be a relic of the likes of Ayo & Teo.

1. No - I honestly donโt think the BMS video and the album bomb will be enough to lock a number one this year. 2. I see Latto sticking around for a while. She may not reach the same heights as others in her genre, but I can see her having a fair amount of success and having some feature credits. 3. Probably Gayle. Abcdefu was just a TikTok song that didnโt have a lot of impact. I donโt see her having a great deal of success unless she releases a similar sound. As for the others, Joji will probably be quite big on streaming but radio will sleep on him. Dove Cameron could have some hits in the future. Em Beihold could have more success, but I think most of it would come from radio.

1. No, at most I can see BMS going top 3 during the week of the album impact 2. Latto seems to be the one with the most industry support right now so I'm guessing her. Not counting out Joji tho considering he's now had multiple TikTok smashes and his career trajectory has been so weird that I can't really predict anything for him 3. Definitely Gayle, she's the only one whose hit people seem to actively hate

1. No
2. Joji
3. Either Em Beihold or Dove Cameron. Gayle is only 18 and has time to re-invent herself, if needed. Em and Dove are in the 20's, and thus, more likely to be one-hit wonders.

1. Yes - Charts are really starting to look dead again. I think Beyonce has a window for #1 after About Damn Time starts to decline.
2. Latto - Maybe that new collab she has with Saucy Santana takes off? I would say Dove because of the industry backing, but I'm not sure if she releases anything else this year.
3. Em Beihold - I love her but Numb Little Bug has intense one hit wonder energy.

1. No. Streaming for it has fallen quite noticeably and I don't feel radio gains will be make up for it. Its best chance would be for the video to be released the week her new album comes out. 2. Latto 3. Gayle, Dove Cameron and Em Beihold all feel to me like one hit wonders.

This week's questions (Deadline Thursday, July 28)
Q1: Renaissance Album Bomb Beyonce will be releasing her new album, Renaissance, this Friday. With the success of her lead single, she's proven she can still get a top 10 hit. It could be a big album for her, as this year has seen a number of artists get some big album bombs thanks to a historically weak chart. -Kendrick Lamar (9 top 20 songs) -Future (8) -Harry Styles (7) -Bad Bunny (7) -Drake (6) -Post Malone (2) How will Beyonce's album match up? Will Beyonce have 3+ top 20 songs during her album week? (8/13 chart)
Q2: All Female Number Ones 2020 was a hige year for all-female collabs. "Say So", "Savage", "Rain On Me", and "WAP" each spent some time at #1. Since then, we haven't had a single all-female collab land at #1. Will the drought continue, or will we get an all-female hit collab this year? Will we see an all-female collab hit #1 before the end of this year? (By 12/31 chart)

1. Yes, I can see Beyoncรฉ getting 3-4 songs in the Top 20.
2. No, Sweetest Pie was probably the best chance, and despite all the hype, it only debuted at #15.

1. Yes, I think she will have 3 songs land in the top 20 before falling the next week. 2. No, there just doesnโt seem like thereโs as much hype around them as there was in 2020. I could be wrong though.

1. No - Her streaming numbers haven't been amazing with BMS, and I could see that preventing her from having a real album bomb.
2. Yes - I really hope we get something good. Maybe a Nicki collab? Or Latto and someone?

1. Yes. I'm going to guess the Beyhive will pull through with the streaming needed for that to happen. 2. No.

Here's this week's score update! Question 10A: What will About Damn Time's peak be by the end of summer? (By 9/17 chart) Lizzo officially climbed to #1 on this week's chart, so this one is resolved! big2000 enwhy jasper0102 korbel16 M5AGTS phieaglesfan712 (67%, 6 of 9) all correctly predicted this, and each earn 15 points. Question 11A: Will Lizzo have multiple songs in the Top 20 on her album release week? (7/30 chart) Lizzo did not end up having any songs debut in the top 20. Besides "About Damn Time", her highest-charting track was "2 Be Loved" (#84). Time will tell whether she can have another hit this album cycle. joshtheking Limited Edition otaviohmg renfield75 (just 25%, 4 of 16) went against the consensus and correctly guessed this, each earning 40 points. Looking ahead:- "As It Was" continues to dominate the charts, ruling for 6 of 8 weeks so far this summer. (80% said it would NOT be song of the summer; 25% said there would be 5+ weeks of rap #1's this summer)
- "About Damn Time" is the 3rd song to go #1 this summer. With "As It Was" fading, there will finally be an opportunity for some turnover at #1 - BMS, RUTH, LNT all have a shot. (25% said there would be 5+ #1 songs this summer)
- Post and Doja's "I Like You" looks likely to break into the Top 10 this week, thanks to the MV and continued radio gains (31% predicted ILY would reach the Top 5)
- Metallica's "Master Of Puppets" falls to #50 in its 3rd week on the charts. Can it hold on for 2 more weeks? Will Billboard send it to recurrency? (50% predicted MoP would spend 5+ weeks on the chart)
