Probably not. Once those albums fade, I expect About Damn Time to surpass As It Was and First Class as the dominant song of the summer. In fact, I think Wait For U, if it can sustain its numbers on iTunes, could be the one that stops ADT.

Still is disappointing there are so few lesbian songs, even including ones that could be heavily coded but always nice to know there are past examples. Only other retro act I can think of that was overtly lesbian and/or queer in it's romantics from a female act was Janis Joplin having a few hits in the 70s

I don't really see either of those challenging for the #1 on the Year-End, or getting ahead of AIW or FC on that chart. I could see them ending up in the top 15, which would be the biggest YE-achievement for both artists as far as I can tell though

Yeah, after many years of largely "coded" queerness (all the glam pop/rock of the 80s for example), most of the celebrities to come out as gay in the 90s were women, while men were mostly remaining closeted. Melissa was a particularly interesting example because it was the rare case where it seemed like coming out actually helped her career, as it was mostly considered a career-killer at the time.

Again, this is just part of The Heart series, not a single Kendrick will acyively push or will even be on the album (though I hope in the future, he release a compilation of all parts)

If it doesn't make the Top 10, oh well. The man is releasing a double album this Friday, he'll have plenty of streaming traction with a full week as opposed to a mid week release. For now, don't worry about the commercial success and just enjoy the best rap song of the year so far.

All of these are songs I mentioned earlier in the thread, but I did learn that Doin’ This is still getting pushed on radio, so I expect that it will survive for at least a couple more weeks. (The account also failed to mention Broadway Girls, which just hit its 20th week and is below #50, and songs like Light Switch and DWHAP that are very close to exiting as well.)

That would be hoping "Heat Waves" still in Top 10 by the 06-18 chart week, seems possible...until you realize it is the Post Malone "Twelve Carat Toothache" album bomb week. It may want for the album to not perform the same way "Hollywood's Bleeding" or "Beerbongs & Bentley's" did.
