maybe he abandoned the era for flopping. I don't get this board's obsession with The Weeknd โ like he's firmly irrelevant on the Billboard Hot 100: 05/21/2022 which is what this thread is about, he had a very successful album and followed it up with an unsuccessful album (by his standards). like until he's releasing new music that might actually chart on the Hot 100 keep him on the Billboard 200 thread (with his absurd Highlights flipping in and out of the top 10 charting that's actually worth talking about there) He has four songs on the most recently-released Hot 100 (chart dated 5/7), including his newest single, which re-entered at #92. Yes, some of the songs are likely to drop out in the next couple weeks, but some might still stay, so he is completely relevant.

Itโs been more than 24 hours and Kendrick still hasnโt topped Apple Music. Interesting

Only #8 right now (Kworb) - I guess he has to wait for the full album to be #1 there.

How did The Heart: Part 4 compare in terms of streaming performance? I remember it not really being that huge in comparison to DAMN, which was the real streaming explosion, but did it perform better than part 5?

I think back then it was just another ordinary day when we were used to Kendrick being a regular artist as he had dropped in both 2015 and 2016, as well as being a sort of a consistent pop-rap guest artist on some hits. The hype was probably still there but in a completely different way leading up to Damn.

Openly lesbian song, probably. There's tons of gay hits on radio (not just from LNX) We talked about this weeks ago but the only other lesbian/lesbian-coded love hits (emphasis on the love part, so not including vague pride songs like Born This Way) we could think of are Cool for the Summer, Girl Crush, and All the Things She Said - and ironically only one of those hits was made by an actual queer act.

With the double Bad Bunny / Jack Harlow album bomb coming up, there's no way Olivia Rodrigo's "good 4 u" will survive next week, thus unfortunately 1 week shy on getting 52 weeks (on the chart week that coincide with the one year anniversary of "SOUR" too!)

Looks like we might also lose Doinโ This, One Right Now, Easy On Me, Need To Know, โTil You Canโt, and Industry Baby depending on how hard the twin album bombs hit, alongside most of Futureโs songs collapsing. Broadway Girls is also guaranteed to exit since it just hit its 20th week and is well below #50.

^ "One Right Now" would probably return by the "Twelve Carat Toothache" chart week (aim for the 06/18), but like a few weeks, the rest are fair cases though

A lot better for Kendrick on Spotify. #1 there and a bunch of songs returning to the Top 200 with the excitement.

I only expect 2-3 Future songs to leave this week considering how many of them debuted in the Top 40. As for the impact of Bad Bunny's double album, it will be big but it's not holding up on AM the same way Future did (remember, Future occupied the Top 10 for several days). I think the impact will be more spread out than mostly in the Top 40.
Still we'll be expecting 20+ new arrivals next week, say goodbye to Doin' This, good 4 u, Broadway Girls, Surface Pressure, No Love, Light Switch, Circles Around This Town, Envolver, Do We Have a Problem, AHHH HA, Rumors, 23, and Beers On Me
Easy On Me I think will be safe since i don't expect there to be enough debuts in the Top 40 to push it out

Iโm hoping Stay is able to stay in the top 10 this week - weโll have three future songs drop out, I donโt think Jack Harlow is debuting a single song top 10, and maybe just Moscow Mule will go top 10 from Bad Bunny? Add Lizzo probably reaching top 10 thatโs two spots left for Sty to take

Isn't this week push week for Doin' This? It probably won't exit the chart (due to gain in radio).

Wait for You has to be generating 4,000,000 streams every day on the American version of Apple Music to be number one over that Kendrick Lamar song
There are about to be so many breakdowns on here when Drake dominates the summer with that song

Yeah, I hadn't checked the country radio charts in a bit, so I wasn't aware that Doin' This hadn't gotten its #1 push yet. Thus, I stand corrected - it will probably survive this week barring any surprises.

Early predictions:
Not so sure how The Heart Part 5 is this high, when Hurricane and Jail were only #6 and #10, despite dominating AM and streaming.

Melissa Etheridge and k.d. lang both had hits in the early 90s while being openly lesbian. Melissa hit the top ten with one of them.

On another note - could As It Was or First Class (probably First Class given that it will most likely serve as Jack's single for the summer, with Harry most likely pushing something else after the release) get to #1 on the Year-End chart if Heat Waves gets pushed out of the top 25 with the current album bombs sticking per one or two songs into the top 25 area and Kendrick's, Harry's, Post's and potentially Frank's album bombs in the coming month?
