2 of the most unbeatable records imo: Drake charting for 8+ years straight Mariah getting a #1 hit in 11 consecutive years It will be very very hard for an artist to break either of these. Especially with overexposure being such a big thing (and so many other profitable ventures these days for musicians...ariana and rihanna are both focusing on beauty products now, and I don't blame them. Before long we might see a single song chart for 8+ years. |

For that to happen, Billboard will need to (1) ban Christmas songs from charting and (2) limit the number of songs an artist can chart at a time, akin to the UK charts. There’s just no way a song can survive in the Top 25 (and that’s assuming the recurrency threshold isn’t increased) through 8 years worth of holiday seasons and possible major albums. |
