Lizzoβs song is fire. Itβll be a multiple week #1. As I have said, this reminds me of late 2014, when we had Blank Space and All About That Bass at the top, and the song on the rise (Uptown Funk) kept growing until it surpassed and became bigger than both of them. Right now, we have As It Was and First Class playing the roles of the big hits at the top, and I feel About Damn Time will eventually end up being bigger than both AIW and FC.

ORN wasn't a flop tho Yeah, it may have performed below expectations given their track records, but a top ten hit that spent 6 months in the Top 40 isn't really a "flop"

ORN proved there's still radio thirst for Post, even if the song sucks. A Roddy collab screams non-event though. Post Malone was way less big in 2017 and 21 Savage was way less big in 2017 then Roddy is in 2022 (even with his post 2020 flops) and rockstar still debuted at 2 and went #1 for a bunch of weeks. if the song is good it'll do the same β debut at 2 behind Kendrick and go #1 for a while But the thing was in 2017, both 21 Savage and Post Malone had hype and momentum behind them. Part of the reason rockstar debuted as high as it did was because Post had became a sleeper success in 2017: Congratulations became a sleeper hit throughout the year, and Stoney wound up as one of the biggest albums of 2017 because of consistent streaming that was steady and strong, even if it never topped the charts. There was real support with many people, and there's a difference between being less big than your peak and being small but not having peaked in interest. In 2022, neither Roddy or Post have that momentum to translate to a #2 debut (especially with how most of us are expecting a massive album bomb for Kendrick). Roddy hasn't charted in months and Post only has one song on the charts and it was never that big on streaming, most of it's momentum came from radio.

Iβm going to hedge my bets and say 10, which would be the same position as Jail. I have a hard time seeing it any higher with the streaming numbers much lower than Hurricane/Jail. (Now that Iβve said this, Iβm contemplating switching out The Heart Part 5 for a much safer option like Thought You Should Know or Me Porto Bonito.) Why do you keep bringing up Hurricane and Jail for this when they're not the same artists lol Hurricane and Jail were (the most recent huge songs) released on a Sunday, just like The Heart Part 5, so those songs are probably the best baseline on what we could use to project The Heart Part 5. Based on the numbers so far, thereβs just no way it debuts as high as Hurricane.

For the Sunday release they can be compared, but you then also have to look at the numbers the other songs in the top 10 are doing. Are the songs at #3, #6, etc doing similar numbers now as when "Jail" and "Hurricane" debuted?

Both in thier prime were great tho so I'm hoping that this song sounds at the very least like the two acts want to be there and are trying something different unlike a certain other 12 Carat Toothache single. ORN wasn't a flop tho wasn't really a hit either? kinda in the middle ground where if the album does well then its fine but if there isnt another hit from the album it wasn't nearly relevant enough to save it from flop status. Kinda like how Chained To The Rhythm and Say Something were both technically hits & made the year end list but both albums are still total flop eras regardless i know it spent more time in the top 40 than those others but thats just because radio spammed it longer doesn't really mean anything
