With her pre-announcing the album, I wonder if Bey is going to play the game this time. Like actually work a single at radio, promo, etc. She hasn't done that in so long, I have no idea how radio would even respond.

All signs are pointing to About Damn Time being number one the week of her album's premiere. I wonder if Beyonce is going to put out a single before then, though, to potentially block her I doubt it. Beyonce is going to be 41. She has never had a #1 debut, and it’s been a long time since she last had a solo #1 (I think it was Single Ladies). |

Bey is so huge that radio is probably clamoring to play a new song of hers, I expect even pop radio would instantly jump on her first single despite her age and long-standing in the industry. It's just a given, she even got a decently big radio hit two years ago with "Savage" (#6 on Pop). And I remember pop radio also playing the "Perfect" remix quite a bit too. |

The only radio formats that would inevitably respond to a new Beyoncé single are Urban and Urban AC with Rhythmic also, potentially, supporting. She hasn’t received “major” crossover Pop airplay for a single since “Sweet Dreams” in 2010 (“Drunk In Love” to a lesser extent), as a lead artist, and I don’t actually think she cares for it either. It’s also not like it matters in the streaming era anyway. Nonetheless… She’s an artist now in her 40’s who is still extremely significant to Pop culture and has her core fans/supporters waiting in the wings. Beyoncé is one of those acts that will always just “remain” and never become irrelevant, no matter what. Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Drake are just the same in my opinion. |

Beyonce doesn't even need to do much to debut at #1 though. Just release a catchy song to all streaming services and release the music video right away. Then bam she'll get a #1 debut. I'm still bitter at her whole Tidal exclusivity for Lemonade. Her chart stats/domination for that album would've been so much higher otherwise. Well… TIDAL was the first to announce this new album/era anyway. Whatever the case, the album isn’t going on Spotify until day 2 or 3 like “Lemonade”. One thing Bey’s gon’ do is stick by her man! 💀 |

That is just foolish. 25,000,000 streams and 100,000,000 airplay will be more than enough for the number one. She’s really approaching this album differently and it will very interesting to see her streaming numbers |
