CUFF IT wins Best R&B Song. Beyoncé is now tied for most Grammy wins in history.

The Academy will one day realize just how horrible of a look it is to never give Beyonce AOTY, which means she will probably win AOTY when she's in her late 50s and semi-retired.

An absolute utter disgrace. And Harry’s “speech” did not help. “This doesn’t happen to guys like me”….um, that’s the problem. it keeps happening to “guys” like you. Literally anyone else in that category could have won and I would have found an ounce of grace. I hope this gets the full backlash that it deserves. What an epic fail for so many communities. Shame on the Academy.

I’m not so sure they will ever realize this. They still haven’t realized the shame in treating Mariah Carey like some no talented bastard artist.

I love Mariah about as much as I love Beyoncé but they’re not comparable in this scenario.

It's hilarious that on a night where she wins four awards and becomes the most decorated artist in Grammy history, it still feels like she got shafted. Whether she nabbed AOTY or not, there's no tip-toeing around the fact that Harry's House was a ridiculous choice compared to half of the nominees. The Grammy's just can't help themselves.
Gonna celebrate those wins and her making Grammy history last night. That "Cuff It" win is especially sweet.

Quick, somebody counts how many Black women were nominated to album of the year since Lauren Hill won in 1999 and how many won.

I think the industry is tired of the hero worship and quite frankly so am I. Every time she releases a project, the media and Stans act like it's the second coming of Jesus.
It's gotten old.

You know what I’m tired of? Takes like this. It’s not as if the academy ever bought into the “worship” to begin with, they’ve BEEN snubbing her. They’re not tired of anything they’re just stuck in their ill-conceived perceptions. Also, let’s not pretend like that ever stopped Taylor Swift or Adele in the General Fields.

She won Song of the Year did she not? See, this is the problem. Beyonce is not OWED "Album of the Year"!

Beyonce is not OWED "Album of the Year"! It’s weird to be the most decorated winner and have a single general field win. That would be odd for anyone, not just Beyoncé. No one is “owed” anything, but the arguments against backlash are flimsy. There’s hero worship of Taylor and Adele, and that’s never stopped them from gen category wins. There’s apparently no backlash in the industry over that. It’s not a Beyoncé-specific trend. It’s a trend of devaluing black art. Beyoncé is just a very visible example. A viable candidate each time, yet falling short each time. Only 3 black women have won AOTY. All in the 90s. None since. Taylor Swift alone has won AOTY as many times as black women.

Beyonce is not OWED "Album of the Year"! Her GF win rate is 1/18. Duh, no one’s owed any award. With your logic we really don’t even need award shows. We’re having a discussion as her fans about the awards we think matter to her, not sure what’s difficult to understand?

The academy’s understanding of Beyoncé’s artistry is forever stuck in the mid-2000s.

No. It's always Beyonce, Beyonce, Beyonce. In the media Beyonce, Beyonce, Beyonce. Online it's the same thing. It is tiring. As far as why Taylor and Adele win, I can't speak to that because I don't follow either. I just plucks my f**king nerves when people cry about a handful of awards that one of the most awarded artists of ALL TIME doesn't have. I remember this s**t started in 2006 when she wasn't nominated for the Oscar. Once again, it's TIRING!!

You can’t speak to Taylor or Adele wins, but you felt very comfortable speaking to their hero worship a sentence before. Beyoncé hero worship may be unique in the way it manifests for her, but you’re silly if you don’t see how Adele and Taylor have their own brands of over-the-top hero worship at this point.
And no one has had to apologize to or shout them out in speeches bc Adele and Taylor actually get to the podium in those categories. They actually get recognized outside of genre-specific awards.

This is not about standom. Nobody thinks Beyoncé is OWED an award. She's been deserving of AOTY three times now and has lost to less remarkable albums each time. It's reaching peak levels of parody.
As for Beyoncé getting shout-outs, she's a veteran in the industry that's inspired numerous generations of artists at this very show. If people want to fawn over their favs, who cares? I really don't understand why that bothers people so much.
