I actually like this artistic change especially coming from him. The production is amazing all around and i like the way some tracks transition. Its such a surprise that there’s actual consistency in a Drake record again and this might be his best studio album since Views but then again it’s not like its that hard to surpass at all. He literally came for the summer vibes this whole project and i don’t wanna say he’ll perform as well as Bad Bunny in terms of the entire album having stability, but considering he’s going for one consistent sound that fits the summer well, maybe it actually will.

I don't see the Dawn FM comparisons that are flying all over Twitter, this is a pop album but it's more Views than Dawn FM or After Hours. These are H&M house beats, not 1980's synthpop. I actually wish the production was a bit more punchier.

So far, the only song I think I would relisten to alone is Massive. Issa bop.

I don't mind it. It's not his best album, but it's certainly his best since Views or IYRTITL. I like that he finally tried something different and not doing the same old stuff he's been doing for his last handful of projects. It's cohesive and actually feels like an album instead of a playlist of potential hits. My favorites are Texts Go Green, Overdrive, and Jimmy Cook's.

I can definitely see it. Both albums have a similar sound in terms of danceability and club vibes but are completely different at what they accomplish.

It’s always a good strategy to have the better song be the 2nd single. Think Heartless/Blinding Lights. Doesn’t matter what the 1st single is if it’s guaranteed to debut at #1, so why burn a good song that could wait for its shine.

I don't care for tracks 1-4 on the new Drake album but everything from track 5-14 GOES. Maybe those earlier songs will grow on me but so far, I'm loving this. Very unexpected.

The album is mid but in a different way than CLB or Scorpion. Those were mid because Drake phoned it in, this is mid because there are some interesting moments and some other ideas that don't work at all but feel inspired, making a 5/10 an averaged score of both the lower lows and higher highs. I'd rate it similarly to CLB at least for now, but I would consider it an overall improvement. But I can't really shake off the feeling that this will perform closer to a DLDT or More Life than Scorpion or CLB, not necessarily due to the quality of the music but mostly because Drake may be somewhat oversaturated at this point and there being no hype for the album at all

The album is okay. CLB was a snooze and uninspiring all around. This at the very least has interesting production and it's a vibe. Automatically an improvement.

I'm perched to see how this streams though. Obviously he's dabbled in these sounds before, but a lot of his base isn't going to be into this at all.

Not much of a Drake fan myself, but gotta hand it to him. If it weren't for Drake and his boyfriend the #1 position this year would have been pretty stale and slow moving.
