Not much of a Drake fan myself, but gotta hand it to him. If it weren't for Drake and his boyfriend the #1 position this year would have been pretty stale and slow moving. Are we talking about Future or Jack Harlow

Are we talking about Future or Jack Harlow It has to be Future. He got the ball rolling on all these major album releases, and he even blocked AIW from a week at #1, despite Harry’s team trying a sales gimmick that Thursday.

I’d be interested to see if the album tracks will count for the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart in any way. Billboard has made several weird decisions with regards to what counts on that chart over the past 9 years. In fact, just this year alone, they allowed most of FKA Twigs’ album Caprisongs to chart, but Calvin Harris’ recent single Potion did not.

Shocked it was released on a Friday and not a Thursday.

Haven't had the chance to hear the album yet but I honestly love that this seems to be a straight up dance album, makes things a lot more interesting and probably means I'll enjoy it a fair bit more than his past few albums

The production of this album is really good but the problem is that Drake is not a good enough vocalist to pull it off. He is out of his depth here. Better than CLB as at least he tried something but he should go back to the sound similar to IYRTITL like Jimmy Cooks.

I get the Dawn FM comparisons in the sense thatbI agree that if Abel performed on this album instead of Drake it'd be much better

who let Drake thinks that he can sing? the production is good to great but the whole time I'm listening I always find myself wishing it was sung by someone else.

BEP outdated in 2022??? Who would've guessed... In before the dated "We so 2008, you so 2000 and late" memories pop up.

Maybe Drake is thinking ahead and seeing what will likely be popular this decade so, dance may be the way to go.

Maybe Drake is thinking ahead and seeing what will likely be popular this decade so, dance may be the way to go. Possibly. But as it stands right now, EDM is at a commercial low point in the US. Only a handful of songs that charted on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs throughout this year have made the Hot 100 (Cold Heart, The Motto, When I'm Gone, Do It To It, a couple others that first charted last year) or even the Bubbling Under (iPad, Dancing Feet). As such, I'm not surprised that people are drawn away from an album that utilizes a sound that doesn't have much commercial appeal in the US right now, although it's still very popular in Europe.

The Black Eyed Peas, Shakira, David Guetta song sounds like it’s straight out of 2009. Not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. Back then, we would’ve called it ‘futuristic’ but now it feels…outdated? I just now listened to the song because of this post and I have to say... I really see the reference. I love 2009 music so it's a good comparison for me. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug.

Will 'Intro' at 0:36 rank as the shortest song to hit the Top 10? It will get a significant number of streams since Drake Botsfans will just stream the album from the top.

I don't care for tracks 1-4 on the new Drake album but everything from track 5-14 GOES. Maybe those earlier songs will grow on me but so far, I'm loving this. Very unexpected. I literally quit listening after Track 4 last night so maybe I'll give the rest of it a shot over the weekend. I didn't dislike the beats but Drake's voice and some of the repetition ("Falling Back" anyone?) really didn't work for me.

I bet if anyone else made this album it for sure wouldn’t be as hated as it is. It’ll probably heavily grow on people the same way 808s, Kiss Land, Views, etc did for people. I think this will do just fine on the charts and possibly have way more longevity than CLB.

I think Intro might have a shot of being the shortest top 10/ charting hit of all time, I think PPAP was like 46 seconds

I do appreciate the sonic risks Drake took with this record, having a whole album dedicated to this sound is gonna turn a lot of people off and I don't think the second week numbers are gonna be that great, especially on AM.

"Rapper who sings" has been Drake's whole thing since the jump lol. Doesn't mean he's the best singer, but it's clearly been working for him so far.

Just finished the album, and it's ok and not as bad as some people are saying, but nowhere near a home-run. I've actually liked Drake's songs where he sings and that are more R&B/Dancehall-leaning the most, including Find Your Love, Hold On We're Going Home (though don't know how much of that Majid Jordan sings), and One Dance, however most of the songs on this album don't quite live up to that level. The concept of the record was nice, I guess I would have preferred if he just took a little more time to craft it and not release it so soon after his last studio effort, because I wasn't exactly craving more Drake right at this moment and I don't think most of the public was either.

Why Drake sounds like cheaper version of Bad Bunny, no offence.

Where were these people when “Find Your Love” came out. I get criticizing his technique or lack-thereof, but he’s shown his hand since the beginning of his commercial career.

I get criticizing his technique or lack-thereof, but he’s shown his hand since the beginning of his commercial career. the difference lies between 5 minutes of him singing and 50 minutes of it, really. i personally can ignore his weaknesses better when its just one or two songs, but an entire album of it is where i drew the line. that being said. Texts Go Green, Massive, and Overdrive are good enough for me to think at least this project is not a waste of time like CLB. would probably like those three even more when not listened to as part of this entire album.
