Honestly as long as we're not getting any macarena samples I'm here for a 90s revival Tyga already did that with Macarena, it was awful. Ngl I thought it went kinda hard 😅

No but honestly, I think that the sound that Abel could explore on his next project shoegaze. He's already dabbling in dream pop, so that could be the next step. Alternatively, he could continue with the 80s inspired sounds, and go even deeper down the city pop lane. Honestly, city pop being the biggest thing in music this decade would be a dream come true If the whole theory about Abel giving up “The Weeknd” as his persona after this next project turns out to be true, then i think he’ll probably do something that’ll resonate with most of his fans. Meaning that he’ll probably mix the sounds of Trilogy with Starboy and After Hours with this next project instead of trying something new like Dawn FM. Friday?

Let me be the first to say that the new Beyonce is a flop because after 24 hours, it's not #1 on Apple Music. Two songs from Drake's "flop" album above it!!

90s throwbacks are pretty rare, so I'll take it over 70s and 80s. It's even more common to see 2000s throwbacks nowadays compared to the 90s 90s throwbacks are played out. Maybe they weren’t in music as much, but 90s nostalgia was obviously pretty big during the 2010s. All the movies, TV shows, etc rebooted and a share of plenty of music that had 90s hits interpreted. The 18-30 generation is also now people who’s childhood was in the 2000s, so it makes sense that nostalgia is now becoming more mainstream popular in culture.

Top 5 Women on Apple Music US: #3 - Beyoncé - BREAK MY SOUL #14 - Kate Bush - Running Up That Hill #37 - Lizzo - About Damn Time #52 - Tems - Free Mind #54 - KAROL G - PROVENZA (yes, it's true. there are just 3 women in the whole Top 50.)

Its definitely not a flop on either end, and if anything this proves that Drake’s streaming is really strong for those top 2 tracks on AM. Even if we didn’t have Beyonce, Future still couldn’t reclaim the top spot by now and we know how massive Wait For U is on AM alone, always bouncing back to #1 in the middle of album bombs such as the weeks of Kendrick, Harry and Bad Bunny.

Isn’t drake the biggest streaming force in the world? His album was released like 3 days ago. The song would have been no.1 without his album bomb. Whether or not the song flops we’ll see in due time. It’s only 24 hours and so far it has been performing better than what I’d expect.

Hopefully this gets him his well earned first Hot 100 hit - despite dominating streaming and the Billboard 200 NBA YoungBoy still needs a “crossover hit”

(No. 45, July 2020) radio would certainly help his Hot 100 chart success—he's never had a song chart more than 20 weeks. despite charting 80 songs, only 7 of them had longevity beyond 10 weeks.

I agree when it comes to film and TV, even today we've seen throwbacks to shows and film from that era with reboots like the Fresh Prince of Bel Air and the unfortunate Space Jam 2. I do think the late 2010s had a bit of 90s nostalgia with songs like Finesse and Boo'd Up but it didn't really last.

A little random but I finally listened to RUTH outside of Stranger Things and it’s amazing, definitely deserves to be a top 10 hit.

Haven't checked the charts too much lately. Surprised to see Adele's 30 barely in the top 100 on its 30 week It's pretty disappointing ever since her residency cancellations, Adele just stopped doing anything for 30 now. Oh well, at least Easy On Me is a smash!

If people want to be pressed and not note the blatant sarcasm that's on them. Of course this isn't a flop, and we won't really know until at least in a couple of days where the wind is taking the song. I will say though, on a serious note, that I am surprised she's only reached #3 on AM. That's not bad by any means.

Lol am I talking to myself in here? Am I the only one that thinks it’s too soon to deem whether Beyoncé’s song is a hit or flop just based on these mid-week numbers? No video, no promo, no radio deal. Everyone is so used to the insta-hit that nobody can fathom the idea of a song that grows.

The most forgettable regrettable number 1 in Hot 100 history. Fixed that for you. I can name at least a couple #1's from each decade (including this one) that are far more forgettable, at least as songs.
