I'm Getting Ready -
Michael KiwanukaWasn't too excited with this guy in that other RD. Don't get mad , but this guy's vocal tones should be singing R&B soul not folk.
59.
No Strings -
Mayer HawthorneOnce again proving how different my taste is from 70% of
PULSE. This feels like my introduction to this artist as I don't recall him charting on any other music charts. I absolutely loved this song. Blue eyed soul vibes are smooth and musically creamy. is That
Hall & Oates on backups? Just misses my top 10.
58.
Everybody Talks -
Neon TreesDoomed from the moment I saw this song on the list. It's the most fun. loud, retro, insanely over, the top, jump on table and dance til you realize you are in your 40s, perfect vocally delivered song on this list. It's a like a baby step down from what Brendon Urie is doing with
Panic! At The Disco this year. I remember having a ball with this band's singles. Practically charted every song off
Pop Psychology and loved their comeback singles from 2020. I even follow Tyler on twitter. is it any wonder it is my #1 song.
57.
Only Love -
Ben HowardNot a fan of this guy's vocals nor the "only Love" chants. Just too too mellow for someone who puts
"Everybody Talks" at #1. You know what I mean.
56.
The A Team -
Ed SheeranOnly song by this guy I ever charted, or ever plan to. Not a fan about songs about hookers on crack. This is why I don't like to get to into the lyrics unless they are about partying, or objects of desire, because it kinda ruins the songs for me. I liked it more when I thought it wasn ode to
Mr. T. and co.
55.
Run Away -
Sarah JaroszThis was pretty much run of the mill boring folk, but it had its moments, and by that I mean her vocals.
54.
Free -
Graffiti6More of that AM radio sounding Indie stuff I dug that year. Misses my top 10 here, but was top 5 on my actual charts. It also rides on a mean basslinei n case someone was waiting for me to add that.
53.
We Take Care of Our Own -
Bruce SpringsteenProof that Bruce still had a Hearland hearbeat. This was probably the most he has sounded like 80's Bruce I grew up with, but was still overshadowed by songs I knew, and charted for that year.
52.
Down in the Valley -
The Head and the HeartI'll take clearing out my bottom tank as a consolation for losing my amazing #1 song before the top 50. The one thing I can say about this song is that it is about as
anti-Doc as you can get.
51.
This Isn't Everything You Are -
Snow PatrolI really hope we do not see any more of this band's songs appear until Sunday night? At least it is this one and not the other ones. I do love these sway your arms in the air Indiepop hits.
50.
Used to Rule the World -
Bonnie RaittThis was alright. Not the most melodic song in town. The jazzt pianos were the highlight for me.
49.
North Side Gal -
JD McPhersonThe retro sounding side of this was a sing a long hoot.
48.
Teardrop Windows -
Benjamin GibbardI wasn't gonna give this a
Death Cab For Cutie free pass, and I really wasn't feeling this song at all.
47.
Never Go Back -
Grace Potter & The Nocturnalseasily one of my favorite First time listens. catchy as hell! Love her vocals.
46.
Stare Into the Sun -
Graffiti6Both of these were gonna make my top 20 no matter what. TBh I didn know of them til
"Free" came out which was single number two, so I didn't get to chart this, but I have loved the song ever since I heard it. They have there basslines in check. This one has a cool like 60's Psychedelic vibe. I recall a few
Cage The Elephant songs.
45.
Love Interruption -
Jack WhiteThis is not the Jack White that blows my mind with his electric guitar arrangements. No free passes on my list.
44.
Sovereign Light Café -
KeaneANother Beautifullty composed song. Don't tell me you guys didn't pick up on that
Killers vibe. Such an aesthetically powerful song.
43.
If I Wanted Someone -
DawesNot even those
"Mary Jane's Last Dance" guitar strums in the intro got me on board. The rest of the song just folka-roamed too much for me.
42.
The Walk -
Mayer Hawthorne Another insanely awesome retro souding song. Could easy find a slot on one of those Oldies, but Goodies cd compilations. Fitz should have teamed up with this guy instead of going the kindergarten soundtrack songs route. Love the music video. I might even chart this guy in 2022 just like I did Anderson East.
41.
Paradise -
ColdplayPart of my really wanted to backlash on this band for the musical direction thay have continued to take. I did chart this and it went top 10 on my chart, but it also has not aged very well. and this video was just the start of the weird animal fetish these guys seem to have. Just a heads up. It is down to #37 on my RD lists and will most likely continue to drop.
ExtrasJust a few I charted this time around. Probaly the three that woul get the PULSE tank treatment?
Gotta Be Wrong Sometimes -
O.A.R.This was the last time I charted this band. Not the best swan song for my charts, but it did have a decent
Train vibe, which it seems you all are barely comeing to terms with the fact that I really loved.
50 Ways to Say Goodbye -
TrainLove it! Just a great vocally bloated over the top , with an un needed Mariachi intro and an even less needed
David Hasselhoff cameo kinda song you would epect from Train. . You know I charted it. You know it would have been in my top 30 ...and I know you all would have tanked it.
Keep Your Head Up -
Andy Grammerhere is another one I enjoyed back then. catchy, melodic, has jumpy piano,s and I postive Lyrical message I just can't resist. keep your head up, party and enjoy life.
