One does not have to hate an artist to take a critical look at them. And people should look in their own mirror. While defending their heroes, and calling others haters and fake - complaining constantly about artists they themselves don't like or are tired of, its wrong to take a look st Drake, but Bieber and Sheersn are fair game to go after for "flopping", as an example. but I should know better than to try and have an intelligent critical discussion with a Stan, so I'll shut up. You're not taking a critical look at anything. You're saying rubbish. The moment anything attached to Drake's name underperforms (for his standards), Pulse users start screaming from the mountain top about his career being in shambles/coming to an end, just to look stupid the next time he drops and smashes. Y'all have been doing this since 2016 and it's exhausting. Like I said, go and worry about newer/less-established artists who are coming and going in 5 years or less and stop focusing on someone like Drake who is still performing better than all his peers and is doing just fine. Quote me where I said he was over. I'll wait... YB's career just baffles me. He's probably a top 10 rapper comercially speaking, but at the same time I don't think anyone listening to anything outside of hip-hop has heard any of his music. I just don't understand how it's possible for a rapper this big to have such little crossover and impact with the pop/mainstream audience

Honestly, there's no point in even talking about Calvin Harris here. It's called the hot 100 thread and Calvin isn't gonna be on the hot 100 this week, just saying. Guys. I just found out that One Light by Maroon 5 and Bantu has been released as a single. It's probably not gonna do anything on the hot 100, but still, it's my job as the M5 stan of the forum to announce that. Now why the different rules for different artists miss M5β¦?? |

I think fwiw, Calvin Harris should be fair game.
The US is kinda done with him. Feels and One Kiss in particular smashed everywhere but stateside and now his album opened to under 2m streams... a mess.

I mean, M5βs not wrong. Calvinβs first day Spotify numbers are pretty bad and he has made exactly zero impact on the Apple Music charts. If that isnβt any indication he isnβt charting this week (especially when Youngboyβs gonna take up a decent chunk of the Hot 100), Idk what is.

I doubt Calvin will make a huge impact even if a song or two debuts on the chart. The US doesnβt care much for him anyway unless he collabs with a big name artist. His last top 20 was Feels with Pharrell, Katy Perry, and Big Sean in 2017, and his last top 10 was This is What You Came For with Rihanna, which peaked at #3 in 2016.

Maybe Calvin isn't focused on the US, and that's okay. Most of the artists featured on the album are from the US though regarding Drake, the song is about to hit #1 on AM so I would say top ten on Hot 100 is pretty much on lock |

Its streams will be way down from the 8/13 chart where it will either barely be #1, or miss #1. We all know a #1 on iTunes means very little. I am confused here. |

Two things:
1. Itβs not like the Queens remix backed its way to #1 on the iTunes chart. It knocked out a BTS song, so it sales should be increased from last week. How much is to be determined.
2. The Queens remix is probably getting some streams, which should minimize the post-album streaming drop. (And even then, the original BMS is still near the Top 10 in AM, which is much higher than AIWβs mid-30s ranking.)
