So, how is this any different from what you were calling out other people for doing just two days ago? Me personally I have nothing against playing the chart game. But where has this love for Harry Styles come from? I'm not just talking about on here, but everywhere. It's really strange. And seemed to come out of nowhere about a month before As It Was came out (nice coincidence, or genius marketing by his record label). It's not just that people like him as a pop star, but I've seen some VERY strong positive language around him even in the most vile parts of the Internet. People talk about him as if he's some kind of angel, even though none of them personally know him. It's more than "I love his songs", I keep seeing "He's such an incredible and talented person", "He has the most pure heart of anybody that I know", "He's the most beautiful and valiant man to walk this earth" types of comments. Was there some big story about him last year that I missed? Is it just because he wears women's clothes so people want to promote him so that other people copy him? I know loads of teenage girls fancied him 10 years ago but it has to be more than that and his previous songs and albums weren't this big. Also As It Was is like a watered down version of Blinding Lights, and this narrative about him started before the song was released anyway, so I don't think it's the song. Watermelon Sugar was a much better song anyway and didn't see this success So what happened? I'm genuinely curious if he saved a child from drowning or something like that. Probably can be chalked up to A perceived Increase in popularity/goodness, rather than an actual seismic shift. plus, some artists do grow in popularity with time. Harry first had to shed his boyband image, that takes time.

That seems so tiring and unenjoyable, constantly wondering if an artist is declining whether or not they're 13 years into their career. Not really, I mean it's done as a discussion not a gripe. Like asking can Kiss still Have hits off their gimmick, or can Jagger go on forever? It's all just mixed in with taking sbiut the music. Kind of like how people mix in talking about aging in Hollywood and remaining relevant there. you wouldn't do it for say anything author, they just write TIL they die, and sometimes past then but we all know in terms of music charts that everyone has expiration date. Apparently it's okay though to discuss a woman won't chart because she is now in her forties or fifties, and when they do it's a rare exception, but we can't discuss other artists apparently, just the approved pulse list. It's all fine here to talk about m5 and alevine and how he's done and not relevant, as pulse has tried to do since like 2013. But Drake, nope! We're not denying that there isn't an expiration date on an artists but imo, it's never going to be known the week of an act releasing new music. Drake could bounce back and all this discussion will be for not. These things take time. Lots and lots of time and won't be properly reflected reflected a few days of a single he's not even the lead act of. At the end of the day, the discussion of Drake falling off is speculation that won't be reflected simply by charts. Go make a thread in Your Opinion if you're so adament about this topic but I think most of us would rather move on. And ftr, I think talking about celebrities aging and becoming less "relevant" is also unenjoyable.

Go back to when Bad Habits didn't hit #1 and there is weeks of discussing how Ed is done and washed up, Still happens here from time to time. so why the double standard?

BMS will lose lots of streams and those dj remixes which even her fans don't stream won't make that much difference.

BMS will lose lots of streams and those dj remixes which even her fans don't stream won't make that much difference. Where BMS is losing on streams, I think it will make up in sales. RUTH has been doing about 8-9k sales for weeks now. BMS (combined) is doing 3x of RUTH. Let’s say BMS has 24k sales and 60M radio. How many streams will it need to be #1 during this tracking week?

Why are you looking at "RUTH" and not "AIW" in this scenario? "AIW" and "RUTH" have similar streams overall, but "AIW" is still ahead in airplay and overall. Isn't "AIW" more likely to be the threat for #1?

Or if the boyband image itself has faded somewhat, the heavy female fanbase and heartthrob mentality has remained.

I think he gets the best of both worlds, he gets to maintain the boyband fans, and gains female fans who aren't into such - as he distances himself time wise from the boy band days. It's a balancing act, not everyone can transition. Many remain scared they'll lose the boyband fans, so overcompensate image to keep that crowd, which then doesn't seem to then attract t the non boyband folks.

kworb's Billboard Radio Songs Estimates « 2022 » / « 08 » / « 07 »
8(=) Em Beihold - Numb Little Bug 62.08(-2.24)
I can't believe there's been all this USELESS talk about Drake and Harry when CLEARLY a CONSPIRACY right now against a REAL ORGANIC hit in Numb Little Bug. There is clearly a BIAS against Em who is a STAR. Obviously, we need to be STREAMING and BUYING even more than WE have already been doing, to show our support for one of the biggest songs right now when the INDUSTRY is AGAINST her for some reason!!!!!!!!

So unfortunately, it has been disqualified and not in the race.

Break My Soul finally closed that gap between the top it and the top 3 songs and is passing First Class tomorrow.
Also, wouldn't surprise me at all now if As It Was passed About Damn Time on radio.

Pretty nice that Break My Soul is likely going to get 2 days at #3 before Sunroof blasts past it.

While I love Sunroof and seeing its success on radio and the Hot 100, I do have to admit that I miss the days of Drake and Post dominating and keeping the charts fresh in 2018. Back then, Perfect was like the only song on the charts with 45+ weeks.

So I'm assuming Physical is returning this week. Not likely Grease and Xanadu songs seem to be better candidates based on early itunes movement

Everyone knows that song whereas her other songs, its mostly just old people that know them. As a member of Gen Z, I can confirm that most of our generation doesn't know any song of hers but Physical. It's obviously her most remembered song. Therefore, I feel like that would be the song that would be the highest on this week's chart.

It's her biggest hit, but that was 40 years ago, I guess people just don't associate the song with her that much. If you look at kworb, her best performing songs right now are You're the One That I Want, Hopelessly Devoted to You, Xanadu and Magic.

It may well be the best-selling soundtrack of all time. There is no contest.
