Reaches a new peak of #53 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. It was removed from Spotify’s Hot Country playlist as of this morning, so I’m curious if Sony will begin to test other songs and see if they connect better before dropping all promotion. Hmm. I don't know, but I wouldn't write this out yet. It is still gaining on Billboard and still on Apple Music and Amazon's main Country playlists, after all. Take Elle King, for instance; Worth a Shot isn't really being pushed on streaming. Instead, they're trying Jersey Giant for unknown reasons (it won't even be on her upcoming album), but it is still being pushed on radio... So, unless ICLYA falls out of Billboard in the next few weeks and gets pulled from other playlists, I will take this with a grain of salt. Who knows, it might eventually get added back to Spotify later when it starts having better airplay down the road.

Female artists move slow/songs take forever these days, blah blah. This has charted for 9 weeks but been out for like 25 weeks. Despite thinking this would hit, this is all I need to see to know where radio is going with their spins this summer.

Yeah country radio is probably gonna attach onto Kelsea Ballerini, Carrie Underwood, Megan Moroney, of all the female songs that are new. This, Ashley Cooke's latest, and Elle King's duet with Dierks Bentley are on borrowed/limited time at this point.

Yep fell off the airplay chart again this week on Country Airplay and given this song's overall downward trajectory on AllAccess I do think Sony did cut this song loose. I imagine heading into the new year they were hoping this to finally catch a break but it's pretty clear country radio has pretty much had this song as an afterthought for a long time. Doubt we get another single from this album unless they plan on doing a deluxe version of her album.

A deluxe version is absolutely what they need to do. "Cirlces" debuted on the Billboard chart just about a year ago today, that would be a very short album cycle and there is just no way Maren can afford to have nothing at radio for the next 1-2 years while she writes another album.
Hoping for a "Pick Me Up" situation here and they release a HQ deluxe with a surefire radio hit that ends up doing well.
I do want to add that I never thought this was a good radio single and I'm sad to have been proven right. It just sounds too lifeless for something from Maren compared to her other hits.

Honestly, unless there is something bombastic that they can tack on for the deluxe version, I say move on completely to the next era. Saying this because it’s clear that the general public and radio aren’t just interested in this type of super low key, mellow, AC fodder music from Maren so if the deluxe version have new songs similar in veins then…it’s just not gonna garner any interest at all.
If they don’t plan on pushing a deluxe version, then do a droplet with either a successful artist or if a solo song then it has to be something extremely strong since it probably won’t be until next year for a new album.

I think the best option for her would be to move on to a new project considering her album wasn’t well received. Work with different songwriters/producers and hopefully she comes up with something better than Humble Quest. I don’t mind the album or it’s songs but it’s not as memorable as her first 2…

Yeah she just needs to cut ties with this era and come back next era swinging with a new producer. I think a high profile country duet would fit her well right now to help build some momentum back.
I echo now is a good time for a droplet song while she works on album four. I know she has to have something good leftover from her previous eras. I remember "Just For Now" was just sitting collecting dust before she tacked it onto something, and that one was very radio friendly. Hope she has another Busbee produced gem lying around.

Agreed - my sentiment toward a deluxe edition definitely includes that the songs released would be of a totally different vein. Otherwise, what's the point. She has already proven before that the songs she releases in deluxe editions include some amazing work that doesn't entirely fit the rest of the album (Company You Keep, Just For Now, Takes Two) so I'm confident there's good work leftover somewhere.
I'm having a hard time thinking of a high profile country artist that wants to put something out with her right now and vice versa. Unfortunately her name comes with a certain territory at this time; I don't believe it's permanent, but it's definitely present. What would be even worse would be her to put out a duet with someone radio already doesn't guarantee hits to and it flops (think Brother's Osborne, etc) (unless it's literally AMFP re-released). Who would be a viable artist for her to record and release something with?

I honestly think the speaking out/being vocal has affected her like almost 0%. It’s just that this album was awful, and everyone expected more because her first two are literally terrific.

He might not want another duet though since he just had Wishful Drinking.

My local station never plays this song which stinks, cus I love this song. It’s probably my favorite from her album. The station only plays her other hits now.

A little too late since this song is done. Good music video though. Shame that her best single imo flops the worst. There is just something so sincere and earnest about this song that I love.

I agree. This has to be one of my favorite things Maren has done, ever. It makes me feel so fuzzy and warm inside. I understood radio being lukewarm to Humble Quest as did everyone due to its lack of “punch”, but this was a clear standout and I thought it’d easily become one of Maren’s biggest singles. Though I believe this will go down as one of the fan favorites when talking about her discography. The good news though, apparently Maren is putting something new out later this year. She has repeatedly it very clear that she has been songwriting and making music. If that’s the case, then I hope she comes back with a vengeance. She’s a trailblazer and honestly too important for Country music as a genre to lose…

She lost me when she started talking s#!t about Morgan Wallen and then Jason Aldean. She 100% has the right to say whatever she wants about whoever she wants…..But from a business standpoint and knowing that country music is still largely very conservative it probably wasn’t very smart.

She lost me when she started talking s#!t about Morgan Wallen and then Jason Aldean. She did kinda hurt their feelings there for a day or two. Bless their little hearts I still don't understand why Maren can't just be more accepting of others. She could learn a lot about tolerance from these men. All we can do is pray for their egos to have a speedy recovery.

I feel like the combo of her album being weak lyrically and her feud with Brittany Aldean has hurt her immensely. This is why country artists try to stay out of politics, because radio and fans can just turn on you in a second.

Radio plays 20 male songs for every one female song, so women don’t have much hope regardless
