Ummm it did “grow” with the GP. Because the song climbed in Day 2 and Day 3 on both Spotify and Apple Music. So to sum it up, the song did better then they expected, and they see a shooting distance for #1 that they didn’t think was possible at first. Sounds like a win to me.

It appears Nicki has the video lined up for next week, which will be an additional streaming boost that would make up for lost digital sales of this week. Then there’s also her increasing airplay…so I wouldn’t count on Nicki having a big fall at all.

Probably a nice chunk, but a viral music video can certainly make up on those grounds. The difference between this time and DWHAP is that SFG has actually held on really well with streaming. I guess we’ll see.

I think 72k sales are very possible considering there are now 4 versions available (Original clean and explicit & Remix clean and explicit.) All 4 versions also occupy #1, 2, 3 & 4 on iTunes. In comparison to DWHAP, they had 3 versions. So they will for sure sell
More with 4 versions.

You’re right with the lack of airplay, alongside the Top 10 being pretty weak right now (even if it’s been weak basically all year), but sales still matter enough that a lot of them can still make a difference (especially when Nicki has been outselling her closest competition on ITunes by over 2 to 1 all week, and that’s not counting her web store). And that’s not counting how you’re severely underestimating it’s streaming numbers.

I’d say it’s pretty likely that she grabs the number one this week. The streams are strong and the sales are obviously on her side; unless the airplay gap is truly that big, she should be fine. Next week is an entirely different question though.

But yeah if this isn’t her solo number one, it’s never happening lol. Her string of number ones all being attached to predators is…. Questionable at minimum

Apple Music fluctuates but it’s stable between #5 to #7 everyday. This is her first Pop single since 2015. Her pop songs are her most viral hits so this doing so well world wide is not unbelievable or far fetched. I’m actually pretty happy because the 12 year old me is still obsessed with Pop Nicki Minaj.

Since we are on the topic of Nicki, I wonder how well SFG will do on radio? I remember “Anaconda” didn’t really do that well in airplay, peaking mid-range on multiple formats and maybe it went top 10 on Urban. I believe it didn’t peak in the Top 10 on overall airplay. For the hype it caused from the visuals, radio did kind of a disservice to it. Although I understand why it wasn’t that big of a radio hit because it was pretty explicit.

Which brings me here. Is radio going to do the same to this song since it’s explicit and follows the same formula? The last mainstream song I can think of that was this explicit was WAP. I don’t remember where it peaked on all the formats but I also feel like that underperformed on radio despite how much of an event single it was. I can see SFG suffering the same fate. Going top 10 on Rhythmic is likely, but I’d be really surprised if it goes top 10 on Pop.
