Recurrent TW LW 2W WOC TITLE PEAK 12 9 - 83 Whiskey Glasses, Morgan Wallen 3 15 20 - 106 Tennessee Whiskey, Chris Stapleton 6 Definitely the modern country classics of the 2010s — crazy their longevity, I bet they'll chart on recurrent for a week here and there for most summers of the early 2020s

Hot 100 Canada TW LW 2W WOC TITLE PEAK 4 5 - 10 Numb, Marshmello & Khalid 4 Such a great song — is it just getting way better streaming in Canada? This is a crazy divergence between the US and Canada for a song that has neither artist benefiting from Canadian Content laws

Meanwhile here in the US on the same charts: #121, not charting, #40, not charting, not charting, #14

The huge increase in streaming for Sweetest Pie (on both Spotify and Apple Music) has me legitimately wondering if it’ll have a chance of earning enough points to reenter the Hot 100. I’m only saying this because it’s sales also increased and the radio audience has remained stable at around 25 million AI… I CALLED IT! Re-enters at #49. So giddy I made a legitimate prediction!

Recent examples are Monster (Shawn Mendes & Justin Bieber) was a number one hit, Body by Loud Luxury was a wayy bigger hit in Canada, even going back Good Time by Carly Rae Jepsen was a number one. You notice the effects more with small hits by Canadian artists that never really go past bubbling under in the US that become Top 40 or even Top 10 hits in Canada

I still think Heat Waves has the YE number 1 sewn up unless it drops out now or in the next week or so but, it would be cool to see it happen since it's rare for a YE topper to start its run after February. I think Old Town Road is are latest debuting YE Number 1 in the in the past decade or so? (I know it came out in 2018 but it didn’t chart til late March 2019). But Heat Waves just has too many points that I think it’d be pretty tough to snag it- wild Heat Waves will be the first Year End number one ever in America to chart on the previous year’s year end It was, and you'd have to go back 10 years to find out the last time it happened before that in 2009 when Boom Boom Pow. Some other notable ones are We Belong Together, Something About the Way You Look Tonight / Candle in the Wind 1997, Gangsta's Paradise and End of the Road.

SABTWYLT / CITW 1997 did it with only a few weeks (debuted September 23 and only had 8 chart weeks on the 1997 year) and would’ve been the year end number 4 from its first week alone!

Billboard are CONSTANTLY shady towards Minaj and it just gets more and more hilarious with each single release. 💀 💀 💀 However, “Super Freaky Girl” has Dr. Luke’s name in the credits, making Nicki the first non-Kemosabe artist to lift the producer to the top of the Hot 100 since Kesha sued him for sexual assault and civil harassment in 2014. (The case was ultimately dismissed in New York in 2016 and denied on appeal in 2018 — Dr. Luke subsequently countersued for defamation, in a case that is still ongoing, with Kesha pursuing a counterclaim.) Whether or not he was actually involved in the creation of this song, this is Nicki’s third No. 1 hit to be attached to a figure with sexual assault allegations against them — Dr. Luke also has writing and production credits on “Say So,” and 6ix9ine (“TROLLZ”) pleaded guilty to the use of a child in a sexual performance in 2015. Nicki willingly aligning herself with this kind of distasteful company dampens any celebratory feelings about her No. 1 achievements. Andrew Unterberger: Like a 6. It’s meaningful to her and to her fans, for sure, but I think her first two No. 1s coming with “Say So” and “Trollz” — neither of which will be among the first 20 songs anyone associates with Nicki Minaj 10 years from now — shows that judging an artist’s pop legacy through the lens of “Do they have a No. 1 or not?” is always going to be a little silly. It will ultimately mean more for Minaj’s legacy if “Super Freaky Girl” endures as one of the year’s defining hits and one of her own signature pop songs — which it very well may, as early signs are encouraging, but it’s still a little too early to say for sure there. (And the presence of Dr. Luke in the credits does indeed make it a bit harder to root for than it might have been otherwise.) www.billboard.com/music/chart-beat/nicki-minaj-super-freaky-girl-five-burning-questions-1235129795/

I'm shocked that sg survived. Next week though will probably be a different story. I don’t think that’s happening. Sweetest Pie and the 3 Rod Wave songs above it are 100% falling past it, and while Bailey Zimmerman and Blackpink can fill in the gaps, Take My Name could get a 21st week, and Bones can have another good week of gains, I don’t see any other song surpassing or debuting above it. And while this is all not counting how much the song loses, if it remains stable next week, it’s probably not going recurrent.

Billboard’s point about “Trollz / Say So” will not be amongst the first 20 songs people remember from her”
Is apt. Obviously SFG is TBD on its legacy, but what do people think the legacy of Trollz / Say So will be? For the Barbz on Pulse, what do you think of them two years out (and with a well-deserved legitimate solo number one under her belt as well)?

How many weeks can you subtract for CITW 1997 run in the 1997 tracking year and have it still be 1997’s year-end number one, and how much will that boost it’s position in the 1998 year-end?

This week marks the 100th straight Hot 100 that Justin Bieber has appeared on, the second time in his career that he's put together a streak of 100+ weeks. {Active streaks of 30+ weeks}161 Lil Baby 146 Dua Lipa 107 Lil Durk 100 Justin Bieber 95 The Kid LAROI 84 Doja Cat 82 Glass Animals 60 Ed Sheeran 56 Jack Harlow 50 Future 49 Elton John 46 Morgan Wallen 43 Latto 41 Kodak Black 39 Imagine Dragons 31 Cole Swindell

Of course, some of these songs would most probably have been a little bit bigger in Canada anyway due to affinity with their home country and the media industry there supporting them voluntarily. I just have to say that I personally LOVED Body and wish it had been much bigger in the states, it had such an epic feel!!
