I would think that the song is directed to the straight female and queer male audience who both would bemoan how a good man is hard to find, so that's not an unfair judgment I think.

But I will say again the thing that bothers me most about this, is the same people who call out people for barely queerbaiting, are gonna be all over this because of the name attached to it. It really bothers me how some people can get away with shit like this, whereas other people get called out for doing a lot less.

People kind of treat Carly Rae like she's a Goddess who can do no wrong, so when she does do wrong, people don't acknowledge it, whereas when other people do the exact same thing (or something not as bad), they get all the hate in the world.

That's where the root of my frustration comes from here. Why does Carly get a pass when she's doing the exact same thing?

I’m noticing that you seem to have issues with artists who are liked by a collective of people and it clouds your judgment because you’re constantly using phrases like X “can do no wrong” and whatnot.

Carly can get away with it because of who she is. If someone who wasn’t accepted by the gay community made this video in a clear attempt at getting them, sure, there’d be a case here. We wouldn’t get mad at Cher or Madonna for this. We wouldn’t get mad at Rihanna and we’re not getting mad at Beyoncé because of her new album. Why Carly?

It should not be that big of a problem for you and I'm straight. What's the big deal with swim trunks and doing silly gestures in between the dance. It comes across to me as a fun in sun/sand video thingy. 
Even if the intent of the video is to what you say, it does not affect me. You probably need to have more fun at times.
