I mean, it is, but nothing significant (by 1,5M streams or so). I'm not comparing AIW/SFG and Butter/G4U, I just hate when we have a song that's like #5, #7 or #10 all week, and then on the 7th day BAM - #1 secured, only because some fans decided to buy 30k copies. A song won't be a bigger hit just because you bought some extra weeks at #1, but okay, people can do whatever they want, as long as it's legit. Like I said, I really like the song, and rooting for it, but this just doesn't feel right to me. “As It Was” has a huge lead on radio, who just won’t quit playing it, and that’s decided by even less people than the number of Barbz that will panic buy the song today. it’s a trade off I can live with, thats just me tho 🤷🏽♀️ and I say that as someone who doesn’t really care for SFG and finds current day Nicki Minaj questionable, messy, and more unethical than your average celebrity to support, lol. At least people are hearing the song when those few radio programmers play it, mass buying on the website is just a waste with no consumption. (I don't doubt they're streaming too, but digital sales are weighed high for a reason, assuming the person only listens to it via that medium). Anyway, it's nowhere near #1, AIW has nearly 240 points again, while SFG is not going to be above 200 based on the current order trajectory

High Hopes never had a chance of recovering from this tbh The dance aside, High Hopes sounds better than I remember it sounding. Maybe it's just nostalgia

Yes, radio is controlled by far less people, but those people are also controlled by GP. It's in their interest to have more listeners, so I assume they want to play the most liked songs (or safe ones), in this case probably the most radio-friendly song of the decade - AIW. On the other hand, fans don't care about those things, they just want their faves at #1.

Nobody's perfect. Remember that. In other news:
I think the GP wanted another PopNicki track.🤷🏽 it's been steady for almost a week straight with no official music video..

On the other hand, fans don't care about those things, they just want their faves at #1. I would agree with you but this isn't about how well-liked either single is. "SFG" is a pretty explicit melodic rap song that came out 2 weeks ago — even if the GP liked it more than "As It Was" it wouldn't have as much radio play. if fans can help close that gap by buying in allowed methods and quantities, I don't think there's much to complain about when it's also going to be above "As It Was" on streaming. "As It Was" might be more well-balanced, but rap songs aren't usually known to perform well out of the gate on radio and "SFG" is leading in the two metrics we'd expect a rap #1 to be leading in. All fans want their faves at #1 — nothing new. Not unique to Barbz. There are many ways to "support" your fave, including streaming, buying songs, and calling radio stations. Again, "SFG" is not a "sales-driven" #1 in my book—not yet anyway. If an extra few sales is what's standing between it and another week at #1, it's understandable we'd see fan campaigns for it. Remember "Shallowbucks" anyone? 😂 "Butter" was #1 in some weeks where it wouldn't even be in the Top 20, and that was with a stronger radio push than "SFG" (at least on pop radio). The way Army dropped "Butter" 1-7 to get their other forgotten song to debut at #1, then dropped that to #7 to get "Butter" back to #1... it was all a joke. I don't see "SFG" as having such legacy.

Radio is all politics. Idk how you can have a problem with fans supporting their artist but think radio play is fair when it’s decided by radio programmers and payola deals. Not directed at anyone, just speaking in general.

the US charts are a fascinating landscape right now because streaming is pretty much fair to any genre, sales are only relevant to stans & conservatives and radio just cannot decide what it wants to be. sometimes i think a song is perfectly suited for radio & it goes nowhere. other times i have 0 clue why the radio thinks its a good idea to blast it hourly. i'll stand by my theory that the radio wants to reflect what's streaming well but there's a significant bias from the programmers & a sh*t ton of secret payola.

Not sure what the argument is about right now because it seems to me that SFG has a healthy balance of all metrics. It’s literally a product of the rules billboard created! A song with heavy streams, surging airplay and being boosted by stan digital sales!! What a nightmare to watch it checking all the boxes and not be a fan of it.

I guess Post's team is getting smart by pushing his more radio friendly songs.

I would think that would be A&R 101 basics, honestly.

High Hopes never had a chance of recovering from this tbh The dance aside, High Hopes sounds better than I remember it sounding. Maybe it's just nostalgia For some reason I've kept coming back to this over the last few days, and it's all I'm living for now!! It's the so bad it's good.

Golden Hour by JVKE is absolutely beautiful. Now this is a song that should be in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. Hopefully, radio will jump on board.

If Bad Habit and RUTH end up being in the Top 5, it'll be the best Top 5 of the year no contest 4/5 great songs & one terrible one imo. pretty damn good all things considered since i feel like this time last year i was struggling to care about most of the songs in the top ten.

If AIW does top this week's Hot 100, will it break the record for the longest gap between its first week at 1 to its latest?

Also, I don't see Bad Habit passing AIW right, even though it's streaming is better, As It Was is holding up much better everywhere else than it right now.

If AIW does top this week's Hot 100, will it break the record for the longest gap between its first week at 1 to its latest? I’m pretty sure that, for a song in a single chart run, the answer is yes (21 weeks). And also most separate runs at #1 (5 runs), breaking a tie. AWIFICY will likely always hold the record for both when including multiple chart runs.
