I’m not sure what his next single will be but I wonder if he’s gonna go for the strategy they’re doing with Jelly Roll and release the same song to country and rock formats like Need a Favor. I feel like the “safe” country format choice is the song with Morgan but usually when I say something’s the safe choice with a star attached, it underperforms (Eg. Flower Shops) while a song like TRUCK BED could work on both formats though not being the “safer” choice. I would go with the latter tbh with a multi format push. It’s also doing better on Shazam than Red , which counts for something. "Flower Shops" was anything but safe for radio. The fact it limped into the top 20 is purely because of radio's infatuation with Morgan Wallen. If it were a solo song or a duet with someone without that huge pull, I think it would've been lucky to graze the top 40 for ERNEST. It wasn't a radio-friendly song at all, whereas "Red" would probably be the definition of a 'safe' release and get to the top of the charts with relative ease. There's nothing polarizing about it at all by comparison. "Truck Bed" would probably be the best choice if they want to make a big splash though. Nah, I totally feel you. I was more meaning “safe” because of radios infatuation with Morgan, not in the radio friendliness of the song. Like a very intentional safe move of having Morgan on the song to get a hit in the way I kinda felt with that Danielle Bradbery single with Thomas Rhett to get a hit. Idk why but I can’t stand those calculated label moves with a bigger artist just to get an artist a hit, big example to me was that Jameson Rogers and Luke Combs song. Don’t blame them at all, irdk why it bothers me lol

Yep like I suspected this peaks at #2 on Billboard with "Rock And A Hard Place" blocking it from #1. Sad this won't be able to get #1 on both charts (it will on Mediabase) but still a very successful song and chart performance regardless.

Hardy means business. The biggest spin increase on the rolling chart by far:
4 1 HARDY wait in the truck f/La. Wilson 8850 7318 1532 36.814

Shame that this got blocked on BB, but I would still consider this as a big win for these two. This sounds nowhere close to a traditional radio friendly song, and while there is a buzz around HARDY lately, this was after all a follow-up single to the song that took 50+ weeks to make it to the top 15. Lainey is also getting some traction, but it was still impressive for this song to receive a great amount of airplays when it was climbing at the same time with her solo material. After considering all these factors and extremely slow chart runs, the fact that this song managed to peak at #2 on its 35th week definitely exceeded my expectation and happy for that.
