The difference is that this is not a lead single or a single from an album for Selena. Radio is treating it as such. And it’s not exactly the most radio friendly song although the streaming numbers are very encouraging so I’m disappointed in radio not taking much action.

Either way, I’m fairly confident that when Selena is on her next album cycle, her first two singles will easily go Top 20 by a breeze, with the lead potentially reaching at least Top 5.

It's not as if this is the first afrobeats song to impact US pop radio. Before this, there was Wizkid and Tems on "Essence", Ckay on "Love Nwantiti", Fireboy DML and Ed Sheeran on "Peru (Remix)". So, I kinda don't get why the radio is not helping at all.

Peru was propelled by an Ed Sheeran remix, and so was Essence by a Justin Bieber remix. Love Nwantiti was because of TikTok. This song is currently popular on both TikTok and IG. It has a global superstar (Selena Gomez) on the remix.
I actually expected it to do better honestly. I'm not happy about it 😒☹️
