Points are so low. I really wish Bruno Mars would release a solo single. This would be the perfect time to snag another #1 hit. He has never had a #1 debut. I would love to see that.

It's the biggest hit of the year. Even went back to #1 on TTH. I don't think it's really surprising that it's still #1 when it's still doing well on all metrics.

That week was a real mess. I'll never forget how nasty the BTS stans, as well as Megan's fans, were that week on the Spectrum Pulse. And also how that week's thread was derailed.

Oh, and this pretty much proves how week the competition is today. AIW would be #7 on last year's Top 10, and the #2 song would be outside the Top 10:

It feels so wrong that AIW is #1 this week, and Stay (with over 1.5x points of AIW) wasn't on this week last year.

There's a difference between having competition (which AIW clearly has given the multiple weeks other songs beat it out for #1 only for it to come back again) and the market being as competitive as it was a few years ago (which it's not since songs are able to reach #1 with lower points).

For 'As It Was' yes we all know how the song has performed this year in THIS market. It has accumulated a certain number of points and has had a near record run in the top two.

when you compare the song to point totals from years past, there is no way of actually knowing if As It Was would perform the same, better or worse if it were released in a different time or different market.

In this market, all we can say for sure is 11 weeks at #1 (going on 12) and 20 weeks in the top 2 (going on 21)

Several of those were from when UGC content counted, so that's a difference. In general things are just different in 2020-2022.
"AIW" was #6 in streaming this past week, so it's not like it's weak there anyway.

I think because it’s the summer reruns. New episodes don’t start until end of September. Hopefully they have new better writers.

I used to frequent the chart threads much more often a few years ago, they became less interesting especially over the last few months. we might have peaked when a few hardcore BTS stans flooded Pulse just to argue people in the Hot 100 threads. I think that was around when they released "Dynamite"?
