Based on the new debuts, besides the obvious one, It seems like Numb Little Bug will go recurrent, and how would it be if Stay ended up surviving at 25?

"Who had the only song to peak at #17 this year? DJ Khaled did." "WE THE (17TH) BEST!" Legit chuckled and heard it in his voice. lol. Question with regard to Running Up That Hill, has it secured a spot on the Year-End list at this point? I know in it's original run in 85' it missed, I would hate for it to be caught between years and not end up on either 2022 or 2023, given how unprecedented this new run is.

Yes, by now RUTH has secured a spot on the year-end list. And the chart run has been very impressive so far, with all 14 weeks being spent in the top 10.

Not only has RUTH clinched a spot in the top 100 for the YE, but it seems it has also clinched a top 50 spot due to its chart run, and this week has made the first the longevity lists I keep track of at 34 weeks. Do we know if any songs have gone recurrent yet?

Looks like Zach Bryan's Oklahoma Smoke Show (from Summertime Blues EP) is viral on Tiktok and is close to entering Hot 100 this week. It is just below Wait In The Truck on Hot Country Songs chart.

When was the last time Brit and Bey were together in the top 10? Has this even happened before? Most recent one I can think of is 3 and Sweet Dreams in Fall of 09

With Elton at 75yo and Britney at 40yo, what was the last duet between 2 veterans to hit top 10?

09/6/2022Steve Lacyβs first Hot 100 hit, βBad Habit,β bumps from No. 3 to a new No. 2 high, as it posts a third week at No. 1 on Streaming Songs (20.3 million, down 2%). The track also tops the multi-metric Hot Rock & Alternative Songs, Hot Rock Songs and Hot Alternative Songs charts for a second week each and ascends to No. 1 on both the multi-metric Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot R&B Songs charts β making history as the first song to rule all five lists, or even Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs (each genreβs overarching songs survey), dating to October 2012, when Billboardβs main genre-based song charts adopted the Hot 100βs methodology. Being promoted to multiple radio formats, by RCA Records, βBad Habitβ concurrently hits the Pop Airplay chartβs top 10 (11-10) and climbs 20-19 on Rhythmic Airplay, 27-19 on Adult Alternative Airplay and 33-28 on Adult Pop Airplay, while building on both alternative and mainstream R&B/hip-hop stations. On the all-format Radio Songs chart, it leaps 24-19 (27.5 million, up 18%). This is a truly rare and unique occurrence, for a song to be getting play on so many disparate formats, especially on both Rock/Alternative and R&B/Hip-Hop!! It reminds me a lot of Lorde's Royals, which had similar cross-format appeal (imo the widest cross-format smash of all time), which had the following peaks amongst the major radio formats: Rock/Alternative: #1 R&B/Hip-Hop: #3 Pop: #1 Adult Pop: #1 AC: #2 Rhythmic: #2 Are there many other songs that got this type of wide cross-format success, especially on both Rock and R&B/Hip-Hop?

Source: Artists' Billboard Chart History pages 27 (+7). Last Night Lonely, Jon Pardi 44 (+1). Numb, Marshmello & Khalid 50 (+5). Unstoppable, Sia 51 (+11). Wishful Drinking, Ingrid Andress & Sam Hunt 95 (+5). La Bachata, Manuel Turizo RC05 (NE). Super Gremlin, Kodak Black (cc: jasper0102 ) Stay is a confirmed survivor. Cold Heart is a confirmed survivor. This will (almost certainly) be its final week, as it is the 52nd somewhere below #25. She Likes It is a confirmed survivor. This is its second week beating recurrency under the top 50.

Just noticed that About Damn edged As It Was for #1 in Radio Songs with a 0.1 million difference in weekly audience.

It's classification as an R&B/Hip-Hop song was iffy, thus it didn't receive much airplay there, however it was #7 on Rock, as well as #1 on Pop, Adult Pop, and Rhythmic.

Also, Sia's Unstoppable enters the top 50 at #50. YAAASSSS!!!!! That's fantastic!!! I'm just worried about it getting caught in between years at this point. At this point in her career, it would just be awesome for Sia to get another top 40 hit. It is a great song. I wouldn't mind longevity so it could make the 2023 year end list. But first I just want to see the song reach the top 40. And would be content if it were just for a few weeks.

I just realized there's been a lack of hip-hop hits this year. Of the songs projected to make the YE, there's only 11 songs I'd count as rap and worse, none of them are particularly great. The closest is Vegas which is good but I haven't returned to it in weeks. Like there are rap songs that charted that I absolutely adore but in terms of the songs with long-term success, none of them really interest me or are songs I've been replaying. They've been passable like Super Gremlin or Jimmy Cooks, boring like WAIT FOR U, or just outright bad like Big Energy

I get the feeling a lot of those listeners are just burned out on the late 2010s trap sound and are waiting for something fresh to shake things up (youβd think itβd be JID, but I guess the promo just isnβt there in the same way).

It's far from the best, which were 2017, 2018, and 2019, but it's still good. There's a rap song this year that is problably making my best list, so I can't complain that much. It would've definitely been better tho if Who Want Smoke actually became a hit. I also wish Ahhh Ha became a hit as well.

Does this week's top 10 contain the most artists in their late 30s and above we have seen in a long while? Elton John, Kate Bush, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Britney Spears and Future. Even Drake and Lizzo are mid 30s but they would be more current artists than the ones previously mentioned. All artists mentioned are also legacy acts at this point as well with literally each one of them influencing music which is really insane to think about. (obviously except for Lizzo but she can def get there in a couple years if sheβs still around hitmaking).
