"Anti-Hero" is a great song and it will stand the test of time. It already kinda is, still top 20 and actually going up in points on the Hot 100 nearly a year after.

Honestly, the fact that some people (myself included) think "Anti-Hero" is not among her best songs is a testament to the strength of her catalogue. Yeah, it's still a good song and a gigantic hit, but I wouldn't list it in my top twenty.

well tbh, the competition for SOTY/ROTY isn't between Taylor's old songs and Anti-Hero, only between the songs in the past 12 months (duh), and Anti-Hero is definitely one of the best. Even if you disagree with this, it's not like they reward the best songs anyway, I mean That's What I Like won it...
Also, why is there a 2-page conversation about an award show that nominated Yummy over Blinding Lights?

Shes announcing something at GMA and streets are saying that it’s The Eras Tour IMAX experience with a wide US release in October. International Swifties and Swifties living abroad lost 😔

Super good idea, so many fans missed out on the tour and it's easy money in the bank. Not only at the box office, but she's probably gonna see nice streaming/sales increases as well.

The business side of me is thinking how much this will help movie theaters this fall with premieres being pushed back due to the Hollywood strikes. Barbie, Oppenheimer, and Taylor Swift saving movie theaters this year.

Oh ish! Now we're gonna get to see what kind of box office numbers she can pull! lol I'm very curious. Unlike the tour itself, she can satisfy 100% of demand by keeping it in cinemas for several months if necessary.

Already bought my IMAX ticket for Sunday October 15th at 7 pm! The show is listed as 2 hours 45 minutes so I’m willing to bet they’re trimming setup time in between eras and such. It’s also showing in regular theatres as well so it’s not just limited to IMAX.
The ticket was a very reasonable $29 after convenience fees. And no obstructed view either! Lol

Just quickly checked and the showings I looked at on the first Friday (the 13th) in Toronto are almost sold out already lol. Very curious how high this can go.
Is $50 million opening weekend too much? If anything I think she'll be limited by number of showings (AMC says its only playing 4x a day Thurs-Sun) and runtime (its listed at 2h45m). In Canada there's only weekend showtimes as well so I guess she's sticking to the "weekend shows only" rule for the movie, too.

There will be no second US leg for this tour then.

4x a day is indeed nothing. But I expect in Taylor fashion we will get a tweet in a few days that says "wow! you guys are crazy, due to excepted demand more showings are now available 13!"

For some of the larger theatres here in Cleveland, there are between 14-20 showings on Saturday and Sunday that opening weekend. Plus if there are other movies around that time that are playing to empty auditoriums, theatre managers and theatre chain bookers have the ability to cancel other movies and add more showtimes if demand is there. We used to do that all the time when I worked for Regal while in college and the Harry Potter and Twilight crazes were happening.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see midnight (pun intended) or 3 am showings added that first weekend to meet demand. It also wouldn’t surprise me one bit to have her change the surprise songs or have different versions of the concert film playing so it is indeed a surprise which songs you get.

Even the e-ticket service has a queue lol. Her demand has no precedent. Like it or not, we’re witnessing something extraordinary.

These limitations are all gonna change in like a day, lol. Movie theaters are still hurting bad, Barbenheimer or not, and they are not going to hamper the massive potential this has. If showtimes expand I wouldn't think $50 mil is out of the question at all, especially considering it's $29 a pop.

There will be no second US leg for this tour then. If you mean additional dates to the ones announced it was always unlikely bc after a lenghty international leg and a short US reprise she'll probably be not only exhausted but bored of the same show. This was probably accelerated by the SAG/WGA strikes. Theaters need content and Taylor is in the uncommon position to be able to promote something with potential to actually do good numbers. I wonder if they're cutting any songs.

With all the Taylor-gating that's been going on outside the venues, her team should consider a distribution deal to play in theatres for a limited IMAX run or something once the tour is completely done. Charge $30-40 a ticket and people will definitely show up, especially those who either couldn't afford to go, or those who saw it live and can't get enough. I worked at a movie theatre in college and when the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus and Jonas Brothers concerts were released in theatres in 3D, they were pretty big events for fans and we were quite busy for them for the limited time they were shown in theatres. Hannah grossed $70.6 mil ( $65.2m in the US, $5.4m int'l) and Jonas grossed $23 mil ( $19m US, $4m int'l) by the end of their theatrical runs. If memory serves me, ticket prices for those were just the regular 3D prices at the time, but Taylor could get away with charging more. Who's the Taylor Nation mole around here? Did Blondie herself see my post and start schemin'? But for real, I'm glad someone got the wheels in motion for this to happen. Otherwise I'd be stuck watching an awful YouTube version of the concert with shoddy camerawork. Several theatre chains are doing special promotions for the concert as well. Cinemark locations have a commemorative plastic popcorn bucket and cup that will be sold starting Friday October 13th while supplies last. They will also be giving out mini posters for a limited time only starting opening day too. AMC Theatres will have the same deals but they are pictured below. I imagine they'll be the exact same or very similar between chains.

Super excited for this, especially for those of us who aren't able or cant afford to see her live, so it's nice to have this option! My only gripe is that that $29 admission (if that's what it is for all showings) is significantly higher than most other movies, and AMC A-List membership (and I'm assuming all other theater subscriptions) won't be accepted, but it's still a bargain compared to the what, $600 minimum for the concert tickets, so I'll take it. The 2 hour, 45 min runtime is a bit long though, I feel they could've trimmed that down more for the theatrical release. And it's not surprising they aren't releasing it internationally yet, as that might weaken demand for those dates that haven't occurred yet, but they will surely get it when those dates are over. I'm guessing they might have originally planned to release this simultaneously worldwide after the entire tour was finished, but moved it up for North America to cash in on demand and because of the dearth of other releases due to the strikes.

I wont be surprised if this actually beats Joker's October opening weekend record ($96 million) tbh.
